Raised 5lb for beating Graceland by 1L at York last month (2m good to soft), and despite dropping in trip at a stiff track is likely to have ground conditions in his favour. Leading contender.

Smooth traveller who has placed form in a course bumper (November 2016), but only thrived once switched to Tapeta over 1m4f at Newcastle earlier in 2017. Edging up the weights and went down narrowly upped to this trip at Doncaster latest but possibly a shade vulnerable on very testing ground.

Winning hurdler who likes to force the pace as he did when winning on the Flat for the first time at Goodwood in October 2016 (2m good). Remains 4lb higher in the weights than for that success, but probably sharper for a couple of runs this year at Ascot and Haydock.

Not won since June 2015 (over 1m6f at York), but has been placed on a number of occasions at that track since. However, not so effective back there latest when a well held tenth to Injam, and despite dropping steadily in the weights for a while needs to show more.

Ran as well as could be expected back from a break last weekend at her beloved Newcastle (1m4f) when a fairly distant third to the progressive pair Stoney Broke and Kullu. Has run well enough over C&D in the past (notably September 2016), but probably not quite good enough today.

With just four career starts under his belt, it's unlikely that we've seen the best of this Pivotal gelding who should most likely relish the conditions. That said, his recent solid handicap form at Hamilton has come on decent ground (good to firm) but another positive showing is on the cards despite a small rise in the weights.

Rattled up a hat-trick in 2016 on predominately good ground (1m3f to 2m) and returned from a break a never dangerous sixth in a fair stayers contest at Newcastle (Injam last of eight). However, despite showing improvement at York next time, Injam showed even more and beat off this gelding (into fourth) by almost 4L. Renews rivalry on 5lb better terms to York with cheek-pieces added.

Falling in the weights, and won from a similar mark at Catterick in September 2016 (1m4f) and despite handling cut in the ground would appear a shade vulnerable over this trip against some fairly handy opposition.

Forecasts

Kensington Star (11/4), Injam (10/3), Silva Eclipse (7/2), Saved By The Bell (8/1), Arthur Mc Bride (10/1), Wor Lass (12/1), Codeshare (12/1), Card High (14/1)

16:10 Carlisle - 9 June 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A competitive contest, and not the easiest puzzle to solve with a number of runners holding claims. Injam and Silva Eclipse are fairy closely matched, and one wouldn't be amazed if the Jedd O'Keeffe trained gelding reversed the recent placings from York. Arthur Mc Bride might struggle to out-point his rivals from the front end in testing ground, so a chance is taken that the very unexposed dual Hamilton runner up KENSINGTON STAR can take this step up in trip in his stride on ground that should suit (by Pivotal).
  1. Kensington Star
  2. Silva Eclipse
  3. Injam
