Makes his handicap debut stepping up in trip and he certainly found his last maiden run an inadequate test. Will be suited by a return to this trip and better is expected this time around.

Showed improved form when winning on handicap debut at Bath last time over 1m2f off a mark of 71 and only gone up 4lb in the handicap. Looks the sort to go on improving and will be suited by an even greater test.

Has looked the type to win a handicap but possibly hasn't had the run of the race in either of his starts in that sphere. Certainly wasn't seen to best effect at Chester and maybe he will appreciate this track a little more although he does face a couple of improvers here.

Won a Beverley maiden at the end of last year over an extended 7f and showed his best form this year when taking the runner-up slot at Doncaster last time over 1m4f. Travelled well in that contest but was well positioned although off the same mark he's hard to discount.

Yet to win a race but has shown improvement in his two handicaps so far taking third at Goodwood last time when claimer ridden. Handicapper looks to have his mark about right though and a couple could well be better handicapped here.

Tongue tie goes on for his handicap debut as he takes a significant step up in trip having run all his maidens over a mile. Suspicion that he's capable of better now he goes into handicaps over an extended trip.

Hasn't really looked to be at home on turf so far in a couple of attempts and the longer trip didn't appear to suit last time out and faces a stiff task here.

Poor maiden who dons another combination of headgear here having looked pretty modest off a lowly mark at Redcar last time and would be a surprise winner here.

Forecasts

Je Suis Charlie (2/1), Koeman (11/4), Quloob (10/3), Chaparrachik (7/1), Tristram (10/1), Aware (20/1), Oberyn (33/1), General Allenby (50/1)

16:20 Brighton - 9 June 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This should be an informative contest with a couple that look as though they can still improve in handicaps having already run in them and some handicap debutantes. Both Tristram and Aware make their handicap debuts and it’s not hard to see either of those making a impression here. Je Suis Charlie is hard to discount despite having the run of the race last time with Chaparrachik another who has already run in handicaps and looking to have chance along with Koeman who possibly hasn’t had the chance to show his best yet. QULOOB only got a 4lb rise for his win last time and this stiffer test will look to suit him and the mark of 75 still looks to leave him well handicapped.
