Has been shrewdly placed to complete a hat-trick. Defied a 10lb rise in the weights to justify favouritism at Newmarket and has been handed a further 11lb handicap. Needs to find more again but having done the minimum required last time there is plenty of untapped potential. Yard are 24-83 here

Hard to equate his form with this initial mark having been beaten by a pair of horses rated 91 and 89 last time. Probably ran to mark of 81 on debut so needs to have had a very good winter.

Scored on handicap debut over a mile here earlier in the month on good-to-firm ground, wasn't done any favours by runner-up leaning into him but stuck at it to get the prize. Up 5lb, there should be more to come from him. Makes AW debut and sire's progeny do well on such surfaces. Stable 8-28 in past fortnight.

Won a Beverley maiden in September (7½f, good) and not seen until being just held when back over that C&D on reappearance/handicap debut (good to firm) last month. Showed improved form when third, a short head behind Masham Star, at Chester last time. Makes debut on surface he is bred to handle with champion jockey on board.

Handicap mark looks about right judged on his easy victory here as a juvenile. Hard to judge him on his reappearance when the ground was heavy and the market will probably tell us more.

Drops back to a mile having failed to get home over further on his last two starts. Yet to race at this level and hard to argue his handicap mark gives him anything more than an outside chance.

Looks handicapped about right based on winning a Kempton maiden (7f) on his fourth start in October. Subsequently gelded and just one run since, when leading until 2f out but eventually finishing 10th of 15 over 7f (good to firm) at Newbury last month. Steps up in trip but this looks a hot race.

There is plenty of untapped potential on view here with Tricorn, Areen Heart and Mandarin all having few miles on the clock. Tricorn is progressing at a rate which suggests he may better than a handicapper. Mandarin was an impressive winner of his maiden here and is undoubtedly better than his last run suggests. CITY OF JOY makes most appeal from a handicapping view. He overcame intimidation to score at Doncaster and should come on appreciably for the run. His second to one time classic hopeful Swiss Storm as a juvenile was a particularly good effort and one which sets Tricorn a stiff task in trying to concede him 7lb.
