Took advantage of a career low mark when scoring over C&D last week. Carries a 6lb penalty for his narrow success but he was competitive off higher marks last summer.
Without a win for almost two years and unable to take advantage of a declining mark in 2016. Again failed to figure on his reappearance and hard to fancy at present.
Last contested a fillies juvenile hurdle at Catterick in the middle of January, having previously disappointed in two AW starts. Scored after a break in 2016 and would appreciate some rain.
Won over C&D last August when benefitting from the way the race developed. Has proved a difficult ride and needs to be produced at the last moment. Hard to believe he is 6lb higher than his latest success and others look more likely.
Course winner improved for fitting of blinkers and step up to this trip when going down in a photo finish to Gworn last week. Meets that rival on 6lb better terms.
Last couple of wins have come in claimers for previous yard. Has shown little in two starts over hurdles recently. Not badly handicapped on the pick of his 2016 form but clues needed from the ring that he may be back at that level.

Gworn and TRINITY STAR fought out a finish over C&D last week. The former came out on top that day but TRINITY STAR gets a 6lb pull for his narrow defeat and he would be expected to reverse the placings on these terms. Melabi was somewhat disappointing last time in a small field. Over this shorter trip he may get a truer pace to aim at and that would make him a threat.
