Yard are yet to have a juvenile winner this season but have only had a limited amount of runners in that sphere. Sales price rose to £37,000 as a two-year-old and could go well for this capable yard.

Will appreciate the step up to 6f here after looking green and in need of the run on his first start over a quick 5f at Bath. Looks sure to progress and one of the leading contenders in this where his experience can be put to good use.

This stable have had a very good start to the year but are yet to have a juvenile winner (0/4) but this one looks to have a speedy pedigree (dam, 5f, two-year-old winner). Has to be respected given the connections.

Managed a promising enough fifth on his debut in a race where the first three home already had experience. Showed ability but looked in need of the experience (slow away) and will have learnt from that outing and better expected this time around.

Holds some fancy entries later in the year (sales races) and given a testing enough start at Ascot on his first outing where he showed ability but looked in need of the experience. Runners from this yard often improve on their second starts and that could be the case here.

First juvenile runner of the year for this yard but looks as though on pedigree a little further will be needed and yard not known for first-time out two-year-old winners.

0/6 is the current score for the yard with juveniles this year. Second foal and a half-sister to the useful two-year-old 5f winner Ardad but may need this outing.

Cost €65,000 as a yearling from a yard that has a decent record with juveniles. Reportedly a sharp sort she will only be their second juvenile runner of the season.

One of two runners in the race for the yard she failed to impress on her debut here over 5f (ran very green) and will do well to get involved here over a furlong further.

Second foal of a juvenile 1m1f winner who was a half-sister to smart 1¼m winner Shamkiyr. Yard are hardly known for their juvenile debutantes winners though and faces some sharp sorts here.

Forecasts

Headway (13/8), Joe's Spirit (10/3), Bath And Tennis (10/3), Tangled (5/1), Starboy (6/1), Armum (8/1), Shawwal (8/1), Cromer (10/1), Olive Mabel (25/1), Wiff Waff (25/1), Mimram (33/1)

13:55 Chelmsford City - 29 May 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

With Headway now a non-runner this now looks a little more open and it would not be a big surprise to see Richard Hannon’s TANGLED take a step forward from his Ascot debut and run far better on his second start like many from the stable have this year. Joe’s Spirit and Starboy are two others that are both expected to come on for their initial runs with Shawwal looking the pick of the newcomers on pedigree.
  1. Tangled
  2. Joe's Spirit
  3. Starboy
