Showed much improved form when second in a Class 2 novices event at Cheltenham in April and duly made light work of an easy task on latest start at Market Rasen. Drying conditions fine and with yard in such good form, has to be on the premises again.
Step up in trip at Fontwell last time saw him put in an improved effort, winning with a bit in hand. Form not upheld by the second next time out however, and more to do under a penalty here. May not want ground too soft either.
Nice enough introduction at Uttoxeter last season when second to Templehills but didn't build on that, and has now been a beaten favourite three times. Yard still struggling for winners and best watched today.
High class on the Flat (won off a mark of 91 a couple of seasons back) and only hurdles start to date, at Newbury last December, showed he should have a future over hurdles too. Not seen since then and likely to need run, but worth keeping an eye on for the future.
Definite signs of ability on both starts, despite huge price tags, and stayed on in good fashion here at Warwick latest to claim a remote third. Probably one for handicaps after today but may still go well again without threatening here.
Two runs for two different trainers have revealed little, and she weakened very quickly once the taps were turned on at Market Rasen latest. Others readily preferred.
Forecasts
Blairs Cove (10/11), Talkischeap (11/4), Burrows Lane (6/1), Captain Morley (9/1), Moderator (25/1), No No Jolie (66/1), Dont Even Go There (200/1)
Talkischeap got off the mark at Fontwell last time and will do better, but that form doesn’t match up to what BLAIRS COVE has achieved to date and this looks like a good opportunity for the seemingly unstoppable at present Dan Skelton stable to get another on the board. Captain Morley is an interesting contender and he and Moderator can fight it out for the minor prize.
