Rather seemed to lose his way towards the back end of last season, but possible legitimate excuses and starts this season on a fair mark. Conditions should be fine but yard a little quiet a present, and others preferred.

Trainer knows the family well, and this one is related to a couple of the yard's speedy winners, but they tend to take time to come to themselves and this one hasn't shown enough to date to suggest he's well handicapped today.

Has shown ability on three of his four starts to date, but judged on latest effort at Thirsk looked in need of further rather than shorter and may find things happening a bit quickly for him today.

Sprang a 66/1 surprise on her final run of last season when running on well to take a Beverley claimer, but that win aside, her form leaves plenty to be desired and she was well beaten on her reappearance.

Showed some ability as a 2-y-o and again showed bright speed on his reappearance at Thirsk before weakening. Drops back to 5f here and hard to know what to expect, but overall impression is that further would suit. Visor on for first time today.

Seems happier on turf than on artificial surfaces and came back with a good run on her seasonal reappearance, showing speed and sticking well to the task at Catterick. Sharp 5f clearly no issue and she should go close if in the same form here.

Possibly a bit unlucky not to get on the scoreboard at Brighton last year, showing speed and leading until caught late on (lost a shoe, which wouldn't have helped). May be better for recent seasonal debut and not completely ruled out.

Didn't show much on either of his first two starts but did better on latest run when second to Noah Amor in a seller at Thirsk. May want a bit further but on a fair mark and seems to be going the right way. Not discounted.

A winner at Chelmsford last November when showing good speed to make all the running. Got loose beforehand at Musselburgh on latest start and ran well in the circumstances. Dropped 3lb for that and may go well for a long way here.

Not progressing as expected and latest effort at Redcar left plenty to be desired. Down another couple of pounds in the handicap but too much to prove at present.

Has shown speed on more than one occasion in her career but has usually been found wanting at the business end. Questionable whether a sharp 5f plays to her strengths either and on balance, others preferred.

Didn't disgrace herself on seasonal reappearance when staying on from the rear to finish a never-nearer fifth at Catterick, and this straight 5f may suit. May ideally want another furlong but likely conditions fine, and may go better than odds imply.

Glimmer of ability on debut at Southwell in January but hasn't built on that in two starts since, and needs the switch to turf (and a handicap for the first time) to have a major effect.

Goes handicapping on a basement mark but has hardly beaten a horse home in three starts so far and may simply need more time.

Looks regressive already and stone last on latest outing at Thirsk, although did show some speed and drop back to the minimum may help. Still looks to have too much on her plate here.

Shown very little on all starts to date and needs huge improvement from somewhere to get involved. No reason to see why that should happen, and others readily preferred.

This looks open, and a few may well leave their previous form behind. FLASHING LIGHT is in good form and ran well enough at Catterick to think she can go close here. Glyder has had excuses for a few of her runs and should come on for a recent run, and along with Jorvik Prince and Nifty Niece, are others to consider.

  2. Glyder
  3. Nifty Niece
