Looks to be following the same pattern as last year when he came here to win this race on his second start off a mark of 84. His warm up race last year came over 1m2f whereas this year he started over a mile and off a mark in the handicap that is as high as he's ever been he really struggled. Has to be respected in this but not coming here in the same form this year as he did last.
Dual winner as a three-year-old when trained by Charlie Appleby but not seen since a Kempton Park win back in October 2015 off a mark of 85. Back from a long break and having first run for new connections when too free over 1m3f recently on the AW and will need to settle better to take a hand here.
Just the one maiden win to his name but has shown some good form in handicaps over various trips. Shaped as if he needed the run last time out on his return at Windsor and should run his race here although he could do with some help from the handicapper who doesn't seem keen to ease his mark.
Has won a handicap but his last two wins have come in weak sellers on the AW with his positive attitude always likely to show him in a good light in that grade. This mark looks tough for him nowadays back in handicap company.
Gelded over the winter after three maiden runs last year he showed improved form to score on his handicap debut at Kempton Park over a mile on his initial run this year. Made favourite he scored from a last time out winner (Spiritual Star) by a neck (had more in hand) and up 6lb he ran well again at Ascot last time in a better contest also over a mile. Possibly needs a stronger gallop at a mile so this 1m2f should suit him better against a less than exacting field.

Last year’s winner Interconnection does have a chance of repeating last year’s win but the higher mark and the less positive return to action this season mean that he has a tougher task this time around and conceding weight to SELECTION won’t be easy. That one looks sure to be suited by the step up to 1m2f and still looks to have some improvement left in him. Mr Red Clubs appears to struggle in handicaps these days with Zzoro more likely to challenge Selection and Skycape has to settle better to be able to show his true worth.
