Picked up from Andre Fabre for 100,000 gns having shown useful form as a juvenile and winning a minor conditions race in 2016. No show on debut for new yard and best watched on return from a break.

Has won three of his nine races including one here as a juvenile. Scored at Lingfield last month and has gone well on both starts since. Others are potentially better handicapped but he has fewer miles on the clock than most in this.

Successful over C&D on good ground last August. Ran well here on reappearance a fortnight ago and comes here with yard in better form following a double on Saturday. A 2lb rise puts him on a career high mark but he has been competitive from it in the past.

Unexposed filly who has won two of her five starts including at Leicester on her reappearance when winning with a bit to spare having been pushed out to assert inside the final furlong. A 5lb rise seems fair and the same rider (2-6 for stable) has again been engaged.

Won a hot York maiden in October but that form suggests his mark of 90 is fair. Outclassed in the Craven on his reappearance and reverts to sprinting.

Unplaced on each of his last nine starts and most effective on rain softened ground. On a fair mark if he can bounce back but no signs of that on his most recent start here when last of 12. Stable had been going through a lean spell but had their first winner since January when landing a Bath sprint last week.

Made all to land a couple of 6f races at Kempton in 2016. Just denied by a fitter in form rival at Lingfield on his reappearance but significantly up in class here.

Never quite hit the mark in three juvenile runs for Charlie Appleby but much-improved when winning in good style on his handicap debut for this yard. Met trouble in running when a strong finishing second last time and of definite interest with top rider (4-14 for the yard) on board.

Improved for his debut when back at Kempton last time to win a 6f maiden on the Polytrack, beating a Godolphin hotpot in the process. Stable had another recent winner and this representative should be capable of having a big say on his handicap debut from a mark which may underestimate him.

Forecasts

Time To Exceed (7/2), Sparkalot (7/2), Gulliver (5/1), Alkhor (6/1), Goring (8/1), Sword Exceed (8/1), Don't Blame Me (8/1), Englishman (33/1), Lawmaking (80/1)

18:50 Windsor - 15 May 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The two younger horses at the foot of the handicap, Sword Exceed and Sparkalot could have been let in lightly. The former will be ridden by a jockey who has done well for the stable in the past whilst the latter is an expensive purchase whose maiden victory suggests his initial mark is not asking too many questions without factoring in further improvement. TIME TO EXCEED scored at Leicester under tonight's rider. She won with enough authority to suggest that a 5lb rise is generous and she is the one to beat.
  1. Time To Exceed
  2. Sparkalot
  3. Sword Exceed
