Cost £62,000 as a yearling and a half-brother to five winners. Showed plenty of speed on debut at Doncaster before running green in the closing stages. Sure to come on for the experience and take all the beating from a handy draw.

Dragon Pulse colt, cost €30,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to useful 5/6f winner Knoxville Bullet and plenty of speed in his pedigree. Easy to back and slowly into stride on his debut when third to a useful looking winner. Well drawn but obviously needs to break on terms. Stable jockey's choice from a strong team and for a yard that landed this in 2012 and 2013.

Cost connections £22,000 and is a first foal of a moderate Irish sprinter. Yard have only had one juvenile winner in the past five seasons and he has a tough draw to overcome.

Probably ran into a smart one last time and previously had Monday's Windsor winner Declarationoflove behind when going down by a short-head to Diamond Pursuit. Has solid claims on that showing.
Son of the speedy Zebedee out of a dam who was a winning miler. Yard are 1-58 with juveniles in the past five seasons.

A €30,000 yearling for a trainer that won this in 2012 and 2013. Showed plenty of speed on her debut before looking a difficult ride at Kempton. Cheekpieces are fitted and top track jockey (12-50 on juveniles here) has been engaged. Plum draw and capable of springing a surprise.

€38,000 yearling. Half-sister to two juvenile 6f winners and out of a half-sister to a US 6½f 2yo winner. Never travelling well at any point last time and visor now applied. Best watched with a tricky draw to overcome.

16:05 Chester - 11 May 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Horses that finished second last time have won five of the last ten renewals of this contest. DAHIK meets that criteria and has a good draw also. Roger Varian's charge showed plenty of speed on his debut when looking as though in need of the experience. The stable continue in excellent form and he sets a clear standard. Milton Road and Last Page were second on their latest starts but their form looks short of the level required to win this. Jeremy Noseda tends to bring his horses along slowly but he was 2-3 with juveniles last May in a change of philosophy. The Newmarket handler is a rare visitor here and that makes the presence of Kat O'Strophic all the more intriguing with a top rider on board. She is worthy of a market check. Tom Dascombe has won this on a couple of occasions recently. He has assembled a team of five for this with the stable jockey opting for Dragon's Tail. That could be a hint worth taking, particularly if timing the break better than on his debut to make the most of a prime draw.
  1. Dahik
  2. Dragons Tail
  3. Kat O'Strophic
