Mansfield Sand Handicap

Last three wins have all come here over C&D but they have all come off lower marks with his last run coming over 5f (trip too short). Often takes a while to get going in his races (can be slow away) and needs a good pace to run at and not well drawn here.

Required a fall in the weights to regain the winning thread over C&D but gradually his form has tailed off and looked really off the boil last time and others would be preferred here.

Managed to end a long losing run with a success here in early March over 6f although it did come off a career low mark. Never the most consistent in the past he did manage to follow-up that win again over C&D off a 6lb higher mark, Has held his form well since then and back on turf last time out just failed to defy a mark 4lb higher than his last win. Never looks the easiest ride but acts well around here and should go well again.

In good form last year when he won three times in 6f handicaps off gradually increasing marks and looked to need the run last time out at Redcar (back from a break). Has his first outing on this surface which leaves as question mark as he's by a sire with a modest record on Fibresand.

His modest win-to-run ratio probably tells most of his story but he did run well here on his penultimate start and his first on Fibresand. Strong in the betting over this distance he didn't really get the best of trips (slow away and kept to the deeper surface on the inner). It's now three years since his last win but he well handicapped although not one for maximum faith.

One that has been in very good form here of late and comes from a yard that has hit form over the past few days. Most of his recent form here has come over 5f but he has won over 6f here and given how well he acts here and the form of the yard he needs respecting.

No stranger to the Fibresand and is a four-time C&D winner on the surface although he's never won off a mark this high on the AW. Bounced back to form last time out over 7f here off a 1lb lower mark but he's never won back-to-back races and this looks a stiffer task than his last win.

Has a rather in-and-out profile with his last five runs (all here) exemplifying his profile. He got back on track last time out over 7f but is just as likely to run poorly this time around as consistency has never been his strong point and the losing run continues to grow.

Eventually ended a long losing run at Chelmsford in January over 7f off a mark of 50. Has failed to follow that up with anything really solid a runner-up slot the best he could manage here on his penultimate start and ran poorly last time out.
