Won nurseries at Nottingham and Chelmsford in October before a step up in class did for her at Newmarket. Returns after a winter break for this from the same mark. May be able to improve again, though will need to do so if she is to return to winning ways.

Comfortably held in all three starts in maidens last season and subsequently gelded. Now tries handicapping from what looks to be a fair mark and with stable's runners going well a close eye on the market is suggested to gauge confidence on this reappearance.

Another handicap debutant who showed glimpses of ability in three maidens last season. Stable has had one winner from three 3yos so far this season and this representative is on a very workable mark if he is straight enough on his return from a break.

Won his first two handicap starts, both at Newcastle, in the autumn. The latter was from a mark 5lb lower than today and he went well from this mark when beaten just ½L at Pontefract last time. That was over a stiff 1m, so this trip is probably within his compass and his chance is respected.

Won a 7f Musselburgh handicap on his debut in this sphere in August (good) but well beaten on both starts since, being gelded in the interim. 2lb higher than that winning mark and with a 5lb claimer up, he is entitled to be thereabouts if better for his return run.

Failed to show much in maidens last season but did a little better on his handicap debut over 1m here last month. Should improve for that and dropped 1lb for this contest, so a decent performance may await. Keep an eye on the market.

Knocked on the door in a couple of handicaps before kicking it open at Leicester in October when scoring over 1m½f from 3lb lower. Gelded after that and given the winter off, so entitled to need his return, where he was well beaten in a better race than this. Yard in form and he is an interesting contender.

Beaten just a neck from 4lb lower at Southwell in first-time cheek pieces on his return last month, which suggested that further improvement is possible this season. Extra furlong today might help him to bridge that extra few pounds gap and he has each-way claims.

Well beaten in all three starts in 7f maidens last season, including at this track. Step up this far in trip not certain to be ideal on pedigree (related to winners at 7f and 1m), though flat track will help in that respect. Trainer has exploited many such lowly handicap marks over the decades and a market check is advised.

16:00 Redcar - 4 May 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Plenty in this on their handicap debuts and the market will be our best guide as to expectations for the unexposed contestants, with Breakwater Bay, Turning Gold, Medalle De Oro and Archi's Affaire are three who catch the eye in that respect. SNOOKERED is the tentative suggestion for the win given that he is race fit and this is not as strong a contest as his return run, while he hails from a yard in form. Cliff Bay could pick up some prize money and the same applies to Ronnie The Rooster and Katebird in a race that looks wide open.
