Non runner at Pontefract with a vets certificate (pulled shoe off) and that may make him a doubtful runner here. Not been long with this yard and looks capable of winning off marks such as this although on jockey bookings he looks the stables second string here.

Draw towards the outside isn't ideal but he can go well when fresh and he made a winning start for this yard when taking a maiden at Hamilton last year over an extended mile. Failed to build on that win on his only subsequent start when returned to handicaps (looked unexposed in that sphere) but ran disappointingly (reported to have bled). Could well have scope off this mark though if he's progressed over the winter.

Very well drawn for one that likes to go forward but has just the one win to his name in a maiden on the AW. 0/5 in handicaps and may well have needed the run on his first run for his yard at Redcar (stumbled at start) this run is likely to reveal more although his mark still looks rather high.

One of four C&D winners in the field with that win coming off a mark of 65 prior to following up off 70 at Beverley over a slightly shorter trip. Took a winter break after that and very much picked up where he left off travelling very well on his return at Pontefract again over a mile and looking to shape much better than the final finishing position.

Could well get involved in a pace battle here as there a couple of others that like to go forward here but has done all his winning from the front. A fall in the weights precipitated his win at Pontefract last year over a mile of a mark of 72 and he's only a 1lb higher here.

Won this last year off a mark of 60 (his second win of the year) and improved on that with three further wins (two more here - one over further). Generally ridden from the front but is more tactically versatile than the other two front-runners in the field. Not looked in quite the same form this year although all his runs have come in higher grade and with a slight ease in class and with the yard in good form he can't be written off easily here.

Slipped back down to his last winning mark and he looks a little better than his recent form would suggest. His last run certainly suggested that he was on the way back to his best (given too much to do) although his yard are rather quiet at the moment.

No great record fresh and generally takes time to get going over the course of the season. Is a C&D winner but generally better at Ayr where she won back-to-back 7f handicaps last year off a similar mark to today's.

Forecasts

Crazy Tornado (5/2), Vizier (4/1), Zeshov (11/2), Marbooh (13/2), Bernie's Boy (7/1), Ellaal (15/2), Ralphy Boy (12/1), Dark Crystal (40/1)

19:10 Musselburgh - 4 May 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A mile handicap that should be run at a good pace with at least two that generally like to go forward and that could well set the race up for ZESHOV who is a strong traveller and showed up very well on his reappearance at Pontefract. Vizier is very much the sort to improve for the O’Meara yard with respect given to both last year’s winner Ellaal and Crazy Tornado in a competitive race for the grade.
  1. Zeshov
  2. Vizier
  3. Ellaal
