Just the one run over fences at Wexford in October over 2m and did fine, ended last year with gutsy Huntingdon win over hurdles. Could go well over these obstacles on return.

11/8
Useful, lightly-raced hurdler took a tumble when tiring over 3m at Cork in November in Listed novice contest when last seen. Makes chase debut now.

25/1
Been disappointing in four runs this year, failing to complete in two and unable to beat a rival home last time at Tramore a month ago. Hard to build any case for on form.

7/2
Runner-up in similar event last month at Cork over 2m4f, has every chance of going one better here, especially if brushing up just slightly on jumping.

Represents top connections but two runs at Fairyhouse last month give him plenty to work on if holding designs on first win over fences at the third attempt.

Modest hurdler, would be struggling against some of these in that sphere. Off since January ahead of this first attempt at the larger obstacles.

Unplaced in six starts over fences, including stable debut for this trainer last month over 2m when fading out of contention and pulled up. Plenty more required from somewhere.

66/1
Lightly-raced nine-year-old, yet to snare a place in a 13 runs under rules, six of them jumping hurdles. Makes chase debut here, chances appear limited.

Horse silk
7/1
Quick-fire double over hurdles in March in good style before handicapper got to grips with him when last spotted at Limerick in early April. Respected now going chasing.
13
Horse silk
50/1
Doesn't appear the most talented, was beaten out the gate over fences at Limerick in June when last spotted, will need to defy a long layoff and the formbook to score here.

Forecasts

Black Warrior (11/8), Fethard Player (11/4), Clonalig House (7/2), Delegate (11/2), Baby Jake (6/1), Donegal Tuesday (7/1), Rocky Court (12/1), Quickpick Vic (20/1), Cliffside Park (25/1), Glacial Shadow (25/1), Poormans Hill (40/1), She's Everything (50/1), The Dack's Man (66/1)

19:50 Ballinrobe - 2 May 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Clonalig House just needs to sharpen his jumping technique and he'll surely be off the mark in this sphere sooner rather than later, while Black Warrior's form over hurdles entitles him to a good deal of respect for this change if discipline. Fethard Player must defy an absence on his first chase outing but should be noted in the betting. BABY JAKE got useful experience of these obstacles at Wexford in the autumn and the manner of his last-start win over timber at Huntingdon showed he's one to have onside in a close finish. He may be able to open his account now while Donegal Tuesday is also noted having been in fine fettle recently over flights.
  1. Baby Jake
  2. Clonalig House
  3. Donegal Tuesday
