Yet to win in handicap company but ran well to finish a close third over C&D last time, and also put in a good performance in Listed company towards the end of last season. Has his favoured ground here and should go close if managing to overcome the high draw.

Won a novice auction race over C&D before running creditably in Listed company since, but hasn't been able to build on that in handicap company, and still seems much too high in the weights to make an impact here.

0/12 in his career so far but has gone close on a few occasions. Returns to handicaps now 8lb lower than when well beaten on debut, but that drop in the weights is now sure to bring about the necessary improvement.

Lightly-raced sort who won narrowly on handicap debut last time. Raised 6lb for that and is dropped to his shortest trip yet. Slight question mark over whether he will have the pace to deal with this distance but is clearly progressive and can't be ruled out.

Very decent second at Nottingham in a similar race last time out, and is raised only 1lb for that effort. Gets a low draw for this and the trip and ground should both be fine for him. Leading contender as long as he handles the course.

Couldn't get off the mark last time when sent off favourite in claiming company, which hardly bodes well for a handicap such as this, but he has run with credit over this trip before, especially on today's forecast ground.

Dropped only 2lb compared to his handicap debut last time out when he was beaten 8¼L. Clearly more will be needed here but he is also one of the more lightly-raced contenders in the field.

C&D winner last time at 66/1, and as a result has been raised a massive 23lb. Showed that she has what it takes to win a race there, but that was in claiming company and she is entitled to find some of the field today too good.

15:05 Beverley - 1 May 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The suggestion is STRINGYBARK CREEK, who ran a very nice race in second at Nottingham last time out and going up only 1lb for that has leading claims here if able to replicate, or even improve upon that performance. He's only a three-year-old so there could be more to come, especially from that all-important low draw for a sprint at Beverley. Lawless Louis ran well over C&D last time and is feared most, ahead of Stubytuesday, who could build on a promising handicap debut last time.
