Believe Itb22
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-9| J: S J Cummins(7)| T: R Hughes| OR:  77
7/1
Hat-trick seeker who has been in fine form recently, including when winning last time out in the manner of a horse who could improve for this step up in trip. Has gone of 8lb in the weights for those two victories but looks to be going the right way and is a leading contender.

Street Poet194
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-7| J: R Winston| T: M Herrington| OR:  75
12/1
Returns to the course after an absence, also making his first appearance for a new trainer. 0/6 in his career so far and is probably best watched here, especially on the basis of his current handicap mark.

Spes Nostrab58
Age: 9|  Weight: 9-6| J: Lewis Edmunds(5)| T: I Jardine| OR:  74
5/1
Course specialist, who has won here five times, four of them over C&D. Hasn't been running as well recently but a fine third at Newcastle last time out was more like it. Gradually lowering handicap mark will help and could run a big race here.

Age: 6|  Weight: 9-6| J: Ryan Powell| T: K Frost| OR:  74
50/1
Has been less than impressive since switching to this new stable despite a rapidly sinking handicap mark, and therefore has something to prove here. He does have form on this surface, at least.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-6| J: S W Kelly| T: A McCann| OR:  74
10/1
Won his maiden here last year but has since shown little and left Marco Botti's for his current trainer. No better on his first run for this yard last time and a hood is applied now.

Idol Deputyp63
Age: 11|  Weight: 9-6| J: Racheal Kneller(5)| T: J Bennett| OR:  74
25/1
Multiple C&D winning veteran who showed he still retains ability when winning here over a furlong shorter last time out. Up 6lb for that now which could prove problematic for him, but still cannot be ruled out.

Shah Of Armaan24
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-5| J: T Eaves| T: K A Ryan| OR:  73
4/1
Got off the mark at this course in January and has run some fair races in handicap company since, with the one exception coming when blowing out at Southwell when he didn't handle the surface in all likelihood. Remains on the same mark here but could still be improving given his profile.

Dragoh37
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-5| J: Patrick Vaughan(7)| T: D O'Meara| OR:  73
7/1
Dual-C&D winner who was slightly disappointing when dropped into selling company last time out, having run well here on several occasions last year. Higher in the weights now but could get involved if able to recapture some of that previous form.

Fast Playb47
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-5| J: Charlie Bennett(5)| T: C R Dore| OR:  73
33/1
Some form here earlier in the year but may have found her handicap limit since and this step down in trip isn't sure to suit. Best watched with some likelier types in the field.

Deep Challenger12
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-4| J: F Sweeney| T: J A Osborne| OR:  72
7/2
Lightly-raced type who has only had four races despite his age, and made a winning handicap debut over C&D last time. 4lb rise for that seems fair, especially as he should still be improving, and there could be plenty more to come.

Kafoo310
Age: 4|  Weight: 8-12| J: Ben Robinson(7)| T: E A L Dunlop| OR:  66
14/1
Likely there was something amiss at Newcastle last time out when he was basically pulled up despite being sent off favourite, and he has been off since. Progressive before that and steps up in trip for this reappearance, where he could go well if overcoming the lay-off.

Yasir58
Age: 9|  Weight: 8-9| J: Katherine Begley(7)| T: C R Dore| OR:  63
66/1
Steps markedly down in trip having been running well over much further than this. Unlikely to have the pace to be competitive over this distance but others come into this in worse runs of form.

Forecasts

Deep Challenger (7/2), Shah Of Armaan (4/1), Spes Nostra (5/1), Believe It (7/1), Drago (7/1), Pushaq (10/1), Street Poet (12/1), Kafoo (14/1), Idol Deputy (25/1), Fast Play (33/1), Arrowzone (50/1), Yasir (66/1)

18:50 Wolverhampton - 29 April 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This is a relatively easy looking heat where it's not easy to completely rule out too many of them. Perhaps the unexposed DEEP CHALLENGER can provide the answer. This son of Galileo won on handicap debut last time when looking like he should have plenty of improvement in him, and should be able to defy a 4lb rise in the rates. Hat-trick seeker Believe It has been in fine form recently and has shaped as if this step up in trip should suit him down to the ground, while Shah of Armaan has excuses for a recent poor showing at Southwell and is another to consider.
  1. Deep Challenger
  2. Believe It
  3. Shah Of Armaan
