Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Craig Nichol| T: R Dobbin| OR:  100
11/1
Point-to-Point winner in December 2015, with 2m novice hurdles always likely to be on the sharp side this campaign. Well beaten on handicap debut at Newcastle (2m4f) in March, but dropped 5lb and better expected on different ground with stable in form.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-9| J: Daragh Bourke(5)| T: M A Barnes| OR:  97

His sole success came over 2m at Newcastle in December, and in truth he lacks any real size to progress further. Well beaten over this trip at Gosforth Park earlier in the month, and only dropped 1lb so others preferred.

Age: 8|  Weight: 11-9| J: Callum Bewley(3)| T: R M Smith| OR:  97
20/1
Has lost his way since his days with Alan King and was pulled up on each of his last two starts in the summer/autumn. Returns from a lengthy break down in the weights and on ground which may well suit.

Been with a few trainers over the years (sole win for Fergal O'Brien in May 2014), but found some unexpected improvement last time when second to Proud Gamble at Musselburgh in December (3m). Presumably suited by better ground which might explain his four month absence since.

An infrequent winner, and contested a seller at Exeter on his last start earlier in the month. Largely below par since a good run on the Flat in December, so best watched.

Snowed Inp28
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-8| J: Sean Quinlan| T: B Butterworth| OR:  96
12/1
A three time career hurdles winner, with the last of those successes coming at Catterick on New Years Day (2m). Has won over this trip previously and on the whole looks more reliable than some of these rivals.
7

Cuil Rogue144
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-7| J: R D Day(3)| T: N G Richards| OR:  95
13/2
11 race maiden under rules, and was a most disappointing beaten favourite at Ayr in December. Well beaten on both previous starts over C&D.

Pretty Miss Mahlerp38
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-7| J: Henry Brooke| T: M Todhunter| OR:  95
12/1
Probably would have won at Ayr in December but for a final hurdle mistake (Cuil Rogue well beaten), but unable to reproduce that run in three starts since. Her best form is with cut, and the initial positive impact of cheek-pieces is seemingly wearing off.

Motion To Strikep1,t18
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-7| J: B S Hughes| T: Mrs J Stephen| OR:  95
10/1
7L runner up in a Hexham novice hurdle for Rebecca Menzies at around this time last year, but has regressed in four runs for this trainer after a reasonable fifth placed run behind Kelka in November. Handicap mark sliding. Cheek-pieces applied.

5/1
Three time winner at this track and tends to go well on decent ground in the spring. No match for Sudski Star at Kelso earlier in the month, but that was still a pleasing effort in the context of this race, and a leading player for an upcoming young rider.

Hurricane Ivanp87
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-5| J: Joe Colliver| T: S Wilson| OR:  93
40/1
C&D winner on his sole visit to this track in 2014, but that was on the back of a prior success at Sedgefield. Not able to better that performance since and looks regressive having refused to race at Down Royal in January.

Horse silk
Unex Picasso672
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-0| J: Lorcan Murtagh(7)| T: F P Murtagh| OR:  88
50/1
All the way winner at Cartmel in May 2013 (3m1f) but has only seen racecourse action twice since then, and returns to the track today absent since June 2015. Given a chance by the handicapper (dropped 12lb) but hard to know what to expect on his return.

Sybil Grey210
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-13| J: Jonathon Bewley(5)| T: G Bewley| OR:  87
25/1
Looks very limited in terms of ability on what she has shown so far, and pulled up on each of her last two hurdles starts at Hexham during 2016.

Horse silk
Ronaldinhop,t55
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-12| J: Colm McCormack(3)| T: Mrs Dianne Sayer| OR:  86
10/1
Hurdles maiden (0 from 24), and seemingly as likely to pull up as score based upon his form figures. However, he was 12L second to Violoniste in a 2m course novices handicap in June 2016, so worth a check for any signs of market confidence.

Horse silk
Karingop145
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-10| J: Grant Cockburn(3)| T: Mrs L B Normile| OR:  84
22/1
17 race maiden despite reaching veteran status, but the nearest he did come to breaking the maiden tag was over C&D in July 2013 when unseating his rider (leading) at the last (effectively the second last; final hurdle omitted).

15:45 Perth - 28 April 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A moderate affair in which one can make a case for very few of the runners, but equally one wouldn't be surprised to see anything winning such is the paucity of talent on show. Log On could take a giant step forward in handicap company over this trip on decent ground, and his trainer Rose Dobbin is in flying form. However, it's tough to overlook the course specialist URBAN KODE, and with conditions perfect, this looks an ideal race for the Lucinda Russell trained gelding to get back to winning ways.
