£8,500 buy. Half brother to a point-to-point winner and twice placed in that sphere himself. Dam was well held in bumpers and over hurdles, out of an unraced sister to a 2m-2m4f hurdle/chase winner. From the family of Captain Christy. Yard's first bumper runner and probably prudent to watch.

Cost just €1,000. Half-brother to 2m3f hurdle winner and also a point-to-point winner. Dam was unplaced in 2m-2m4f hurdles, though out of a bumper and 2m hurdle winner. This debutant won a maiden point-to-point in January but failed to complete twice since and is another probably best watched.

Half-brother to four sprint winners on the Flat and out of a mare placed from 7f-1m2f. Not an obvious National Hunt performer then and so far has finished placed, albeit well beaten, in a couple of point-to-points. Latter was on good to firm, which may help on this rules debut.

Cost £12,000. Has been runner-up in three out of four point-to-points, all over 2m4f. No bumper success in his pedigree, but is a half-brother to a 2m3f hurdle and chase winner and out of a mare who was runner-up over a similar trip over hurdles. Yard not won a bumper for a long time.
€28,000 purchase last year. Full-brother to bumper winner Benechenko and half-brother to three other National Hunt winners. Dam is an unraced full-sister to good staying chaser Macgeorge. Fit from a recent point-to-point run and from a yard in form, he should go close in this weak event.

Failed to hear the gavel drop in the recent Aintree sales. Dam was a 1m3f winner on AW, out of an unraced half-sister to Champion Hurdle winner Sublimity and UAE 1m Group Three winner Marbush. Point-to-point form has been good in the context of this lowly affair and should take some beating.
Cost just £400 as 3yo. Placed in a couple of point-to-points, but has failed to complete in her last two. Out of an unraced half-sister to two hurdle/chase winners and a bumper/hurdle winner. Grandam a half-sister to Champion Bumper winner Mucklemeg. Remains to be seen if she shares anything like that ability.

Dam won 2m3f hurdle and is full-sister to a bumper winner and a 2m hurdle winner. Should strip fit enough after a recent point-to-point run when she made the frame and may be capable of making an impact here.

Horse silk
33/1
Showed improved point-to-point form when runner-up in one of those last time. Out of a 2m hurdle winner who is a half-sister to some useful bumper/hurdle/chase winners and from the family of top-class 2m hurdler Relkeel. Another who could be involved with fitness unlikely to be an issue.
Dam won 2m6f hunter chase as well as a point-to-point and is full sister to a winner in that sphere and half-sister to four more. No surprise that she has won two of those herself and not been out of the frame in four other starts. One of the more likely contenders here.

Forecasts

Ticket To Ride (11/4), Teeton Power (3/1), Sword Of Fate (5/1), Troed Y Melin (13/2), Alright Chief (17/2), Country Legend (9/1), Come On Joey (14/1), Crack On Jack (16/1), Koala Keel (33/1), Bellas Touch (33/1)

19:40 Exeter - 26 April 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

TICKET TO RIDE has been going well enough n point-to-points and is well related, so he is the tentative choice in a field of rules debutantes. Sword Of Fate is feared, while Country Legend, Koala Keel and Teeton Power should all be thereabouts.
  1. Ticket To Ride
  2. Sword Of Fate
  3. Teeton Power
