Dual C&D winner including on heavy ground in January 2016. Beaten just 3L when attempting to follow up that success off this 14lb higher mark earlier this year but well beaten on good ground subsequently. Likely to run well off top weight here.
Successful on his return from a five month absence when winning at Chepstow (good) in October. Well beaten twice here since including at the Festival last month and racing off an 8lb higher mark than when runner-up in the 2016 renewal of this.
Winner of this race 12 months ago and third on his return to action behind Art Mauresque in October. Well beaten in three outings since then however including here when returning from a break last month and likely to find a few too good off this mark.
Victorious off a 2lb higher mark at Ascot in November 2015. Best recent effort came when beaten a neck at Warwick (soft) on his penultimate outing. Well beaten in a Grade 3 contest last time out and looks up against it here.
Useful novice chaser and a winner on heavy ground at Ayr in January. Seemed to appreciate the the step up in trip when fifth in the Brown Advisory Plate here last month and shaped as if 2m5f would suit when weakening over 3m1f at Aintree subsequently. Likely to play a leading role today.
Finished third in the Grand Sefton over this trip over the Grand National fences at Aintree in December but well beaten twice since including in similar conditions earlier this month. Well beaten on two previous chase starts here.
Winner over C&D in a Grade 3 contest in January. Sent off favourite for a valuable Listed novice handicap here last month but fell mid-race. Well beaten over 2m at Aintree two weeks ago and likely to appreciate this return to 2m5f.
Easy winner of a nine runner Grade 3 2m4f contest at Newbury early last month and had a number of today's rivals behind him when finishing fourth here subsequently. Races off a mark 9lb higher than for that Newbury success and likely to run his race despite being 1lb out of the handicap.
Good form in Ireland a few years ago but form tailed off prior to joining this stable in late 2015. Surprised many when winning here over 2m in November and ran well to finish second at this track a month later. Disappointed since and best form has come over shorter. Races from out of the handicap today.
Twice a winner at Worcester in July and ran a good race when third behind a well handicapped rival over 2m here in October. Returned from a five month break with a solid fourth at Newbury over 2m4f last month but has a bit to find from out of the handicap here.

STARCHITECT caught the eye when staying on over this C&D here last month and that fifth placed effort is better than it appears given he was hampered at a crucial stage. David Pipe's charge ran well over further next time out and can take this competitive Grade 3 contest by defeating Thomas Crapper who finished just in front of him at Cheltenham while course regular and top weight Village Vic is taken to finish third. Of the remainder 2016's winner Voix D'Eau is worth noting here though this looks a stronger race than last years renewal.
