Clearly favoured by this surface and has won his last two races here in fairly impressive fashion for the grade. The handicapper obviously thought so to as he hit him with a 10lb rise which takes him to a career high mark.
Makes his first start on this surface after showing very little in three maidens on turf and the AW. Ran far too freely on his handicap debut last time out at Chelmsford (1m2f) and will need to settle better here to make an impression. First runner for this sire (The Factor) on Fibresand.
Another one getting her first taste of this unique AW surface and by a sire with a below average record on Fibresand. Maiden form was modest and hardly stepped forward on that when making her handicap debut at Newcastle recently over 7f although did have to race a little isolated. Cheekpieces go on for the first time today.
By a sire (Clodavil) who has a good record on this surface and she wasn't beaten that far when making her handicap debut here last time out over today's trip. Needs to improve on that run but this looks a slightly easier contest.
Sort who looks capable of better and has already had one experience of this surface in a maiden on her second start. Now goes handicapping for the first time with a hood on (first-time) and better is expected.
This yard are always to be watched with their first-time out runners on the surface and this one may prove no exception. His form so far is modest but back from a break here with the cheekpieces for the first time he becomes of interest.
Had more chances than most in this and is 0/7 overall but is rather in-and-out with regard to performance levels. Ran far too free on his return from a break last time out at Kempton Park over a mile and there looks to be more progression in the others.
Forecasts
Chamasay (11/4), Jive Factor (11/4), Seeking Attention (3/1), Forest Angel (6/1), Cliff Bay (7/1), Crucial Moment (20/1), Shambra (20/1)
CHAMASAY appears really well suited by this surface and it’s probably the handicapper that will do more to stop him here than the opposition that looks rather modest. Shambra ran a fair enough race here last time out and should be considered along with Cliff Bay and Forest Angel.
