Couldn't win a maiden despite running creditably and, though he was not disgraced on his handicap debut over 1m6f at Haydock (soft), something went amiss at Leicester next time. Questions to answer on his reappearance.
Showed a liking for this track when dotting up over 1m2f (soft) last summer and is actually able to race off a lower mark now, owing to a fruitless AW campaign which has seen his rating drop. Trip no problem, has to be of interest.
Four Flat wins but not sighted on the level for over two-and-a-half years. Has since established himself as useful over hurdles with three wins but below his best at Taunton recently. Market vibes will be interesting.
Capable veteran who has paid his way with 12 wins down the years, including four at around this trip last summer, and has won here in the past. Ended last year out of sorts, however, and tends to need a run.
Fallen a long way in the weights but with good reason, unplaced on last 17 starts. Tailed off on many of those occasions, though he wasn't entirely discredited over 2m at Lingfield last time out. Still more needed.
Yet to place from 11 attempts on turf but has enjoyed another productive campaign on the AW (record reads five wins from 13). As a result he races off a significantly lower mark compared to his AW rating, so dangerous to dismiss.

Midtech Star (6/4), Ardamir (2/1), Icebuster (5/2), Togetherness (9/2), Eddiemaurice (6/1), Rowlestone Lass (13/2), Wordiness (10/1), Urban Space (33/1)
Midtech Star and Ardamir have both been running well on the AW of late and have to be of interest, particularly the former, whose significantly lower turf rating makes him a potential blot on the handicap. However, preference is for ICEBUSTER who has also been hinting at better things to come on the AW of late and who has won on this course from a higher mark in the past.
