Has perhaps not totally fulfilled her early career promise, but equally is a likeable mare at her level. There was no disgrace in her February Ffos Las handicap debut runners up effort to Midnight Silver over an inadequate 2m, and she probably just struggled to get home over 3m last time out at Southwell. Tough to beat (penalised) on her return to novice company with this trip ideal.

Little to recommend her upon on the basis of her three hurdles runs to date, but a half sister to Burgundy Beau, this step up in trip should play to her strengths, but remains a likely outsider nevertheless.

Three time runner up who was no match for the heavily punted Acdc in a Hexham maiden hurdle last month (2m4f). No obvious reason for her dismal effort at Newcastle prior to that run, so good to see her bounce back. No star, but capable of picking up a small race at some point.

Former Irish Point-to-Point mare who cost these connections £7,000 at Doncaster in November 2016. Beaten narrowly by a neck in a 3m mares maiden (heavy) at Loughrea in October 2016, which was the clear pick of her five runs in Ireland. Finished last of 12 on her sole rules start in a Cork bumper.
With stamina in her pedigree, bumpers were never going to suit, and she built upon a low key 2m Ayr hurdles debut (mid February), when finishing a fairly distant second to Princess Mononoke at Hexham (2m) in mid March. Up in trip 6F, and a probable improver but plenty to find on these terms with Grace Tara.

Forecasts

Grace Tara (4/7), Floramoss (9/4), Topham Bay (10/1), How Much Is Enough (33/1), Clovelly (50/1)

16:10 Kelso - 3 April 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

GRACE TARA looks much the strongest of these five mares, with her form in bumpers, novice hurdles, and more recently handicap hurdles easily good enough to land this prize. This trip of 2m6f should be ideal around this sharp circuit, and she should have too much class for three time runner up Floramoss.
  1. Grace Tara
  2. Floramoss
  3. Topham Bay
