Tap Nightv60
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-12| J: Blair Campbell(7)| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR:  115
14/1
Former smart hurdler who has won off a mark as high as 140 (2m, soft, Ayr) but has yet to win a handicap over fences. Raced mainly over hurdles (won at Musselburgh off 124) lately though well beaten over fences at Ayr last time and fully exposed.

Stay Out Of Courtp60
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-11| J: David Noonan(3)| T: D Pipe| OR:  114
9/2
Has been slightly frustrating to follow in that he has made the frame on four successive occasions under rules but failed to win. Different trips and headgear have been tried (cheek pieces retained here) and a 1lb drop won't do any harm, though clearly risky sticking with him for win purposes.

Yet to win over hurdles and another with a profile of a horse proving frustrating to follow. This is a marginally better contest than the one in which he made the frame at Kempton last time, though now that the champion takes the mount he may see a change in fortunes.

Scored over 2m3½f here (good to soft) in a novices' handicap on Boxing Day and followed up under a penalty at Ayr (soft). An 11lb rise did for him at Carlisle last time and just a 1lb drop today will make it tough, although pilot's claim partially negates that.

11/1
Clearly not one of his top yard's leading lights but they continue to try to get a win out of him. Closest he has come to success was over a similar trip at Exeter in November in novices' company but big disappointment at Doncaster last time when fancied on handicap debut and plenty to prove.

Bowdler's Magic39
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-7| J: Sean Quinlan| T: D Thompson| OR:  110
20/1
Fakenham seller winner in January who was probably flattered to finish 5L runner-up at Carlisle a couple of starts back from 2lb higher than today. The drop came after he fell last time when unlikely to succeed and he looks to have done his winning for the time being.

5lb lower than when scoring at Carlisle in March last year and while he has not threatened since then, he gets the same conditions today at a C&D that he is already a winner over and a return to form is not ruled out.

10/1
Has been tried over further the last twice and didn't seem to stay, so this drop in trip looks a positive, while the yard is back in better form and he sports headgear for the first time. Very interesting with the drier ground likely to suit him better.

Devils Water30
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-5| J: Jan Faltejsek| T: G A Charlton| OR:  108
25/1
Pulled up on two of his four starts over hurdles, with his best effort coming over this trip when third at Musselburgh (50/1) last time (2m3½f, good) in maiden company. Goes handicapping for the first time now and over this longer trip he could claim further prize money.

3/1
Won a Carlisle bumper this time last year when fresh (good to soft) and has run reasonably well in both an Ayr maiden hurdle and a novices' contest here (2m3½f, soft) last time. Handicap debut today from a workable mark. Very interesting.

33/1
Can be a bit quirky but does go well when the handicapper gives him a squeak, as is the case today. Has not won here in two attempts and now tries third type of headgear. Brian Hughes steps off to ride an opponent. Non-runner at Sedgefield on Wednesday.

Sendiym256
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-1| J: Harry Challoner| T: Mrs Dianne Sayer| OR:  90
80/1
13lb higher than his last win, at Sedgefield in April (2m5f, good to soft) and crept further up the weights after that success for running well in defeat. Not seen out since looking in the grip of the handicapper in the late summer and probably best watched for now.

Forecasts

Robintheaulad (3/1), Stay Out Of Court (9/2), Little Bruce (5/1), Magic Dancer (7/1), Bubba N Squeak (10/1), Swoop To Conquer (11/1), Tap Night (14/1), Bruce Almighty (14/1), Bowdler's Magic (20/1), Devils Water (25/1), Turtle Cask (33/1), Sendiym (80/1)

15:20 Wetherby - 31 March 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Devils Water could be about to run his best race yet now sent handicapping, though another doing the same and on what could be an attractive mark is ROBINTHEAULAD, who is the suggestion. Bubba N Squeak represents connections that do well here and are in form, so he is feared, while Stay Out Of Court and Magic Dancer are others who should be on the premises in a competitive enough heat.
  1. Robintheaulad
  2. Bubba N Squeak
  3. Stay Out Of Court
