Very impressive in three runs to date in this sphere and proven in different types of ground over a variety of trips; leading claims once again.

Green when winning at Musselburgh in November but didn't get away with such antics last time at Ascot, pulling in the early stages and first-time hood needs to work the oracle.
3
Horse silk
40/1
Dead-heated last time at Southwell but form of that race has taken a couple of knocks and likely to need plenty of improvement to figure here.
4
Horse silk
33/1
Not shown enough in two efforts last year to warrant consideration here and has a break to overcome. First-time tongue-tie might help but raced keenly last time and will need to settle better,
5
Horse silk
12/1
Likely to want plenty further with time but trainer has a good strike-rate in this sphere so he's not one to put a line through and any market support would be interesting.
Respectable effort at Ascot two starts back but well beaten last time. Given some time to recover from that effort but trainer's horses can often need their first run back and yard have been a little quiet over recent weeks.
Yard not known for having debut bumper winners, which makes his 10L Newcastle success first time out all the more notable but failed to back it up at Doncaster last. Trainer been in fine form in recent weeks but booking of a 10lb claimer may suggest connections think they're up against it a little.

Good pedigree though cost a modest £14,000. Yard does quite well in these sort of races and a market check is advised to gauge any confidence in this gelding on debut.

Horse silk
33/1
Relatively cheap purchase compared to some of these but trainer has a fine record in bumper and he's three wins from 9 starts in this sphere over the past 12 months. Pedigree hints at him possibly wanting softer ground but anty market support should be noted.

Bullionaire
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-10| J: N D Fehily| T: H Fry
11/2
Yard do well in this sphere and this debutante should be respected with his trainer in flying form and having a smart strike-rate around here; cost £37,000 last year.
13
Horse silk
14/1
French-bred who cost £21,000 as a three-year-old and now finds himself with some high profile connections in what could potentially be a fairly weak bumper. Not without chance on debut.
14
Horse silk
50/1
Cost a small fortune (£58,000) at the sales but trainer has a modest strike rate in these events and entirely possible he'll need more time.

Age: 4|  Weight: 10-10| J: Wayne Hutchinson| T: A King
6/1
Represents a top yard and has a very interesting pedigree. Good staying on second last time and that along with his pedigree suggests he will want plenty further with time. Not one to dismiss out of hand though.
16
Horse silk
9/2
Yard have a good strike rate in these events and he comes from a family with plenty of winners to there name, another one to take seriously with some speed in his pedigree.
17
Horse silk
50/1
Stayed on into modest third when 5-1 for a bumper at Exeter on New Year's Day before running a shade disappointingly last time. This looks an even hotter race and yard form is a concern.
18
Horse silk
16/1
Makes debut here and related to winners but looks like the second-string on jockey bookings.

Tekap
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-10| J: R Johnson| T: H D Daly
33/1
Cost £30,000 as a three-year-old and makes debut here and while trainer only has a modest strike-rate in these races, the booking of the Champion Jockey is eye-catching and betting market may provide more clues.

Horse silk
50/1
Yard have three winners from nine runners in bumpers this year and has an interesting enough pedigree to warrant consideration. Also looks to be the yard's first string.
Nicely bred but likely to want plenty further with time and debut last time doesn't entitle him to consideration in this, despite yard having a fine record in these races.
Cost £15,000 last year and yard have a fine record in these races. Proven at this track after a respectable second here on debut (well beaten by the winner) and the sole filly in the line up isn't without a chance as Sam Twiston Davies appears to prefer her to the stablemate.

16:45 Newbury - 25 March 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Wide open contest and a case could be made for plenty CHEZ CASTEL MAIL won in impressive style when last seen and he should remain competitive off top-weight. Ginge de Sophia is the only female in the line up and she's picked over her stablemate by Sam Twiston-Davies while Harry Fry's runners need respecting in this sphere, particularly at this venue and Bullionaire looks like the most interesting of the newcomers.
  1. Chez Castel Mail
  2. Ginge de Sophia
  3. Bullionaire
