Had shown ability on the Flat but looked in need of a handicap mark in three runs over hurdles. Returns from a twelve month absence with the market guiding his chances.

Has been in good form over fences this winter but hurdling efforts have been well below that level. Without a win over hurdles since 2013 and may need a stiffer track nowadays.

Continues to drop in the weights but has looked a doubtful stayer. This sharp track on good ground may be the answer, but he remains a risky proposition.

A career record of 1 from 23 isn't the most appealing profile, but this mare was a ready winner on that occasion. She has continued to run fairly well since, including when fourth to Oishin, at Newcastle when last in action back in December. Stable going well at present and she has good C&D form.

C&D winner in November and not disgraced in two starts on softer ground since. Has been given a break whilst waiting for faster conditions and one to note in the market.

Winner last time over fences here. Took advantage of a good mark that day and comes here seeking to exploit a more attractive one over hurdles. Trip looks plenty sharp enough on a track as quick as this.

Has gone off quickly before blowing up on his last couple of starts. Faster ground may help, as will the sharper track, but overall profile makes him risky.

Showed a moderate level of form on the Flat in Ireland and has proven no better over hurdles. Trainer looking for first winner since September 2014.

Winner of two races on the Flat in 2015 but has looked poor in all starts over hurdles. Needs to find considerable improvement.

15:50 Musselburgh - 24 March 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This is not an easy race to unravel with the in form horses switching to smaller obstacles. CATCHTHEMOONLIGHT represents the in form Lucinda Russell team and showed good form to finish second to a well treated rival at Kelso before hacking up at Hexham. Three poorer runs since coincided with her yard going off the boil and she will be a different proposition now. Pekanheim has a good handicap mark but, having shown better form over further, there is a concern this may be a bit quick for him. He would still have to a rate a danger in a race lacking quality and recent form. Mitcd has been given a break in order to wait for better ground. A reproduction of her C&D success in November would see her involved at the business end of this.
  1. Catchthemoonlight
  2. Pekanheim
  3. Mitcd
