Smart performer at his best although not been seen much of lately and has reportedly had a breathing operation. Had just two runs for this yard late last year and his last run in a handicap came off a mark of 108 and he's now dropped to 99 making his Fibresand debut.

Useful performer who needs a good gallop to run at and can fail to settle if he doesn't get it. Has run well on most AW surfaces but makes his Fibresand debut for a trainer who has won this race for the past two years. Not badly handicapped if he takes to this surface and the race is run to suit.

Had his first experience of this surface on his last start and took well to it only going down narrowly to a talented if slightly quirky winner. Races off the same mark here but can be slowly away and that often hampers his chance.

Proved himself earlier in the year on this surface with a good second off an 8lb lower mark. Last three runs have shown him still in good form winning in his penultimate start off a mark of 82 and only beaten by an unexposed sort at Newcastle last time out off a 6lb higher mark.

Has been placed on Fibresand but the losing run is starting to stack up now. Ran a creditable race last time when returning from a break (travelled well) and only beaten a neck by War Department into third and it should be close between those two again.

Has run some good race on Fibresand but all over shorter and tries 7f here for the first time (has won elsewhere over this trip). Run well the last twice here (both over 5f) and steps up 2f after he found the leaders not coming back to him last time.

Has run several good races around here (only win came over a mile in a maiden) and appreciated a return to that trip when winning at Newcastle off a 5lb lower mark. Has looked held off marks like this one before and goes up in grade.

Forecasts

Twin Appeal (2/1), Outer Space (9/2), Supersta (5/1), War Department (5/1), Quixote (8/1), Sir Billy Wright (10/1), Dusky Dawn (11/1), Ascription (11/1)

16:25 Southwell - 21 March 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Without doubt the best race on the card and Supersta is an interesting contender on his debut on this surface although it remains to be seen if he will get enough pace to run at to enable him to settle. Outer Space certainly took to the surface last time and he should again be respected although his slow starts can put him a little on the back foot. Sir Billy Wright steps back up in trip and should continue to run well although this trip on this surface may just stretch him a little. The two that make most appeal are Twin Appeal and WAR DEPARTMENT and it should be close between this duo after they were both placed behind a progressive sort at Newcastle last time out.
  1. War Department
  2. Twin Appeal
  3. Outer Space
