Three runs in two maidens and a bumper have indicated only a modest level of ability.

Has started slowly on both starts to date and is of limited appeal.

Speed in the pedigree and related to five winners. Probably best watched on debut.
4

Horse silk

Has shown signs of ability whilst looking green on both starts to date. May need more time and a handicap mark before progressing.

Off the track since inauspicious debut last April. Makes debut for new connections and market will be informative.

Bred for speed and fetched 50,000 guineas at the sales. Weak in the market and ran green on debut in a weak looking maiden. Stable are 2-3 in last two weeks including one under today's rider.

€50,000 buy as a two-year-old. Related to a couple of AW winners who were best at around 7f-1m. Finished last of 14 on debut and has been gelded since. Hood fitted for the first time.

Pedigree indicates he is going to need middle distances. Stable's horses generally improve for first run and that will most likely be the case here.

£75,000 yearling by Choisir out of an unraced dam. Decent pedigree, especially in terms of sprinters. Sent off at 25/1 and soundly beaten on debut. Will come on for the run but best watched until stable begin to fire.

Sparkalot
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-1| J: J F Egan| T: S Dow
10/1
Purchased for 120,000 guineas as a two-year-old. Half-brother to four winners including three who scored on artificial surfaces. Stable are not renowned for debut winners but he could be worth a check in the market.

Stable's horses have been going well lately. Looked green on debut here last month and hood now fitted. Sure to come on for the experience but may need more time.

Ashwaq110
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-10| J: Tom Marquand| T: R Hannon
8/11
Runner-up last time in a race which has produced three subsequent winners. Has been given time since that run and is the clear form pick. On the negative side the stable have had some expensive failures in this type of race lately.

Forecasts

Ashwaq (8/11), Essential (3/1), Sparkalot (10/1), Double Dutch (10/1), Tojosimbre (14/1), Hisar (20/1), Spare Parts (25/1), Mister Chow (33/1), Napping (50/1), Pocket Warrior (66/1), Tilly's Bridge (66/1), Zerafino (150/1)

16:00 Kempton - 20 March 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

ASHWAQ represents a yard having mixed fortunes at present and particularly in this class of event. She may not be one to take a ridiculously short price about but a lack of obvious competition makes her the pick, Sparkalot is an expensive buy who could prove to be better than these one day. He has speed in his pedigree as does Essential who represents a yard going well. George Scott's charge looked green on debut and any progress made since then will see him thereabouts.
  1. Ashwaq
  2. Essential
  3. Sparkalot
