Horse silk
125/1
Well beaten on sole start in a bumper in January before running slightly better than his odds of 100/1 would suggest on hurdling debut at Chepstow (19½f, good) last month. Could be improving but an unlikely winner of this.

10/1
Hasn't particularly caught the eye on any of his four starts over hurdles so far. Steps back down to this trip after a switch to intermediate distances didn't make much difference, and looks to be one who will mostly be of interest when handicapping.
3

Ckalco Des Logest24
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-2| J: Bridget Andrews(3)| T: D Skelton| OR:  123
1/1
Point to point winner who has been unlucky not to get off the mark under rules so far with three good performances. Unlikely to face anything of the quality that beat him on those occasions today, and this would seem to be the perfect opportunity to notch up a first win over hurdles.
4
Horse silk
150/1
Well beaten on both starts over hurdles so far and would need to take a big step forward in order to be competitive here. Wears a hood for the first time.

King's Tempest49

4/1
Good form two seasons ago, finishing second twice before being pulled up in the Sefton Hurdle at Aintree. Hasn't looked the same force on his return this season, but definitely in with a chance if returning to his best form.
6
Horse silk
100/1
Unseated on hurdling debut at Newbury before being well beaten in two subsequent novice hurdles. No obvious chance on the basis of those performances.

3/1
Has put up two decent performances over hurdles so far following some good form in the point to point sphere, including when third behind Neon Wolf. Step down in trip may help here.

16/1
Fair Flat performer who makes her debut over hurdles today. Doesn't have an obvious jumps pedigree but 2m shouldn't be a problem. Watch the market.
9
Horse silk
Flight To Nowhereh1145
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-9| J: L Heard| T: R J Price
200/1
Has finished last of all in both a bumper and a novice hurdle so far and looks set to play another minor role here today.
Only modest form on the Flat and over hurdles so far, and though there could be improvement to come plenty will be needed if he is to have a say here.
11
Horse silk
100/1
Only modest form in two bumpers so far this year, and tries hurdles for the first time today. Best watched on debut in this sphere.

Forecasts

Ckalco Des Loges (1/1), Star Tackle (3/1), King's Tempest (4/1), Big Chip And Pin (10/1), Dizzey Heights (16/1), Unblinking (16/1), Macca's Stowaway (100/1), Majingilane (100/1), A L'asseau (125/1), Jamesgiftkeysandal (150/1), Flight To Nowhere (200/1)

15:25 Chepstow - 13 March 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This looks like the perfect opportunity for CKALCO DES LOGES to finally get off the mark. Dan Skelton's gelding clearly possess ability and has been unlucky to not win a similar event so far. He should find things much easier today, with a weak opposition headed by King's Tempest, who remains unexposed having spent much of his career sidelined with an injury. Star Tackle is another young horse who has run well over hurdles and has point to point form, including when third behind Neon Wolf.
  1. Ckalco Des Loges
  2. King's Tempest
  3. Star Tackle
