Unbeaten in a point-to-point, a bumper and two novices' hurdles so far and now has to shoulder a double penalty. Can race freely, which won't help him to maintain his 100% record though can go well with jockey's big claim a plus.
Not yet lived up to the promise of being placed in three bumpers, running no better than reasonably well on both hurdles starts. Going to need to raise his game significantly to take a hand here and likely to do better when stepped up in trip.
Won a good ground Carlisle bumper in November and both defeats over hurdles have seen him show some promise. Got tired here last time over further, but will need a typically positive Danny Cook ride to be seen to best effect now dropped in trip once more. Looks a player.
Well beaten on debut at Catterick in debut bumper, when never a factor. Half-sister to Milly Baloo, a 2m4f hurdle winner who also landed a 3m1f chase on that same Catterick card. Check out the market for confidence or otherwise.
Beaten a long way on first three bumpers, but showed more on the Polytrack at Lingfield last time. Makes her hurdles debut today and half-sister to multiple winning chaser.
Forecasts
Top Ville Ben (2/5), Just Minded (9/4), Derrynane (14/1), Gogo Baloo (66/1), Kristal Star (100/1)
Top Ville Ben will not be easy to beat, but he could be vulnerable under a double penalty, despite his rider's 10lb claim, if he doesn't settle better than he has. Therefore, we will take JUST MINDED against him today and hopefully Danny Cook's usual positivity from the plate will help his cause. Gogo Baloo is the most interesting of the other trio.
