Three-time AW winner with all three wins coming on the Tapeta surface at Wolverhampton. Been in fine form of late but suspicion is the handicapper has got a hold of him and while he's thriving at this veteran stage of his career, it's unlikely he's improving.
She's worked her way back to form recently and belatedly returned to the winners enclosure last time. Step up in trip is an unknown but could unlock some improvement and will benefit from strong pace in the race. Trainer does well with his fillies and mares.
Badly out of form recently and tailed off on last three outings. Yet to place in four AW starts and never won over this far on the Flat so looks opposable.
Complicated sort who returned to the winners enclosure for the first time in 18 months two starts back at Chelmsford. 3lb rise for subsequent second seems a touch harsh and he's never won off a mark this high but he should remain competitive, despite looking vulnerable for win purposes.
Won a maiden at Lingfield in good fashion in May but opening mark looked stiff and finished last of seven on handicap debut. However, better last time after an absence and every chance he's improved for his seasonal break. Trainer does well with his stayers and any market support would be interesting. Each-way claims at the least.
Smart hold-up performer on his day but no doubt disappointing in two starts here this winter and hasn't returned in the same form after a short break. Remains of interest with a solid strike-rate of 33.3% on the AW (7-21) but never won off a mark this high.
Feasibly handicapped judged on his hurdles form and step up in trip from 1m4f he has been contesting should certainly help but this looks a hot-race and he'll need the first time tongue-tie to have a positive effect.
Looks on a fair mark judged on the pick of his efforts over obstacles but doesn't seem as effective on the Flat and remains a maiden after nine starts in this sphere. Would appear to be the yard's second-string when taking into account the jockey bookings.
Forecasts
Aldreth (11/4), Persun (11/4), Tetradrachm (7/2), Mister Bob (13/2), Mere Anarchy (10/1), Zakatal (12/1), Fair Loch (33/1), Buthelezi (33/1)
Mick Channon does well with his female horses and the booking of Graham Lee is a further positive for the chances of PERSUN. It's possible the step up in trip will bring out some improvement and she could be hard to beat provided she stays. Aldreth doesn't win often and needs to be delivered at exactly the right time but he should remain competitive after a 3lb rise in weights while Tetradrachm should improve for a yard that do well with their stayers.
