Did show some promise at Limerick over Christmas but now needs to put disappointing efforts at Cork (chase) and Gowran Park (hurdles) behind him, hard to fancy on those efforts.
Relatively unfancied all four starts in beginners chases thus far, has run with moderate promise at times and no reason he shouldn't get competitive now taking chance in a handicap.
Been something of a letdown so far over fences, having been fancied on Limerick debut in October. May do better now handicapping and worth a look in the market.
Mare ran well on return to action at Cork in November, though much less so in two subsequent outings including when beaten a long way back at the Mallow venue in January. Blinkers go on this time.
Been busy either side of Christmas, generally performing consistently and winning Naas two-miler in January. 4lb higher, upped in trip and should be involved.
Won first start under rules at Downpatrick in May and done well enough since to merit consideration, returns to action here having been off since Punchestown fifth of ten in October.
Narrowly beaten at this track over shorter trip a fortnight ago, 2lb rise looks fair and should be in the mix once more.
Forecasts
Maguire's Glen (3/1), Crest (4/1), Oscar Lantern (6/1), Nine Stiches (7/1), Shake It Up (9/1), Final Gift (11/1), Curragh Na Gold (12/1), Black Zero (14/1), Toushan (14/1), Positive Approach (16/1)
Crest is respected on handicap bow for his leading trainer and should give this a strong push having shaped well ahead of his first handicap chase outing. Black Zero needs to bounce back but, having won at Naas over shorter in January, merits respect. FINAL GIFT ran well when second at Limerick over Christmas and could take plenty beating now off the same mark with blinkers going on. Maguire's Glen was a narrow third over 2f shorter here a fortnight ago and having been denied running room briefly on the final bend, he may do better this time.
1. Final Gift
2. Maguire's Glen
3. Crest
