Quite highly regarded by the yard and ran in the JLT at the Cheltenham Festival last year, finishing fifth but far from disgraced. Disappointed when pulling up in a Grade 3 contest on latest start but this is easier. Will probably try and make all as this trip is on the short side for him.
Looks like making a better chaser than hurdler and took advantage of the fall of Westren Warrior to record an easy victory at Ludlow on his chasing debut. Gets a useful 3lb from As De Mee here, and if keeping in touch with the likely pacesetter, may have the legs of him late in the contest.
Showed plenty of promise behind Burtons Well at Uttoxeter on his chasing debut and put that experience to good use at Wetherby next time, beating Actinpieces by a neck despite some indifferent jumping. This slight drop back in trip looks a positive. Needs to brush up his jumping a little.
Hasn't looked a natural over fences but has steadily progressed, doing better last time, Would be better off with the other two in a handicap, though, and wouldn't want the ground to get too soft here either. Needs to improve a little.
Forecasts
Kilcrea Vale (10/11), As De Mee (7/4), Rock Gone (9/1), Winner Massagot (10/1)
This trip is on the short side for As De Mee so expect Sean Bowen to try and make all. If he gets in a good rhythm he could prove hard to peg back, but preference is for KILCREA VALE , who looks to be improving and can take advantage of the 3lb he gets from As De Mee here. Neither of the other two can be discounted in a tricky event, but Rock Gone is just preferred over Winner Massagot to round out the first three.
1. Kilcrea Vale
2. As De Mee
3. Rock Gone
