Was strongly supported in the market before his debut at Southwell last month and obliged in commanding style. Penalised 7lb for that, but that shouldn't be an issue with this opposition.
Refused to race at Southwell ten days ago, tries again today retaining the tongue tie and hood. Stable do well with bumper horses, but faces stiff competition today.
Well beaten at Warwick on debut in December, and unless he shows something completely different today, a repeat of that result looks to be on the cards.
By Scorpion and from a family that produces a lot of point-to-pointers. Pedigree and ownership both seem to suggest chasing over further will be his game in time.
Just about got up in a Doncaster bumper in November over 1m5f. The extra three furlongs today will suit, but up against some of these he'll likely need to improve from his debut.
First coming to the track as a six-year-old suggests she might not have been the most straightforward, and her pedigree is more stamina than speed. Best watched on debut.
By Beat Hollow and from the family of winning hurdler Wilberdragon. A market move would be interesting but other newcomers seem likelier types.
Forecasts
Champ (4/6), Irish Prophecy (4/1), Diese Des Bieffes (4/1), Frankie Rapper (10/1), The Hiking Viking (20/1), Spider's Bite (20/1), Linkenholt (40/1), Corzeam (50/1), Too Hot To Bouggie (100/1)
It's difficult to make a judgement on this race having not seen many of the runners in action yet, but it was impossible not to be impressed with the way CHAMP won on debut last month. It's no secret how highly connections rate him and he looks like he could be a very exciting prospect. Irish Prophecy also won on debut and the extra few furlongs should suit him today, while Frankie Rapper has one of the more interesting profiles of the newcomers.
1. Champ
2. Irish Prophecy
3. Frankie Rapper
