Was given a chance by the handicapper after he won over 7f at Newcastle at the start of last month. He was disappointing in both his subsequent starts so comes into this with something to prove. The drop in trip is in his favour but he looks a risky proposition on these terms.
Runners from this yard have to earn their keep and it will be no surprise to see him kept pretty busy as the turf season rolls ever closer. He is better than he showed last time out and may well reverse the form with Letmestopyouthere if a more patient approach is taken this time around. One to bear in mind now the yard is starting to shift through the gears.
Won a maiden at Nottingham with a bit in hand last year and has been given time to develop in the intervening period. He's not over-faced on his handicap debut but his yard, despite sending out a winner from a small amount of runners on the AW, has been very quiet of late. A careful monitoring of the betting is advised for this occasion.
Made the most of a drop in the ratings to win over an extended mile at this course last month but never looked like delivering when attempting to follow up last time out. However, that was a tougher race than this and, on face value, this looks more grade. The step up in trip also bolsters the case in her favour.
Was expectedly outclassed in the Superlative Stakes as a youngster and faded to end last season in the midst of obscurity. However, he has made a pleasing start to this year's campaign and justified the belief to keep him in training by winning a three-runner race at Lingfield at the start of this month. That form has a suspect look to it though and he needs to step things up a notch to get involved.
Only very modest form in maidens but the drop back in trip and his low draw are both positives for this gelding who likes to front run. Should improve and the booking of this jockey suggests a big run is expected.
Forecasts
Gilgamesh (11/10), Tailor's Row (7/2), Letmestopyouthere (11/2), Mums The Word (9/1), Spirit Of Sarwan (12/1), Allegheny Bay (16/1)
Preference goes to MUMS THE WORLD, who returns quickly to aim at a more realistic target than last time out. The switch to this trip will also play to her strengths and a big run can be anticipated, Letmestopyouthere and Spirit Of Sarwan can also play a part but Allegheny Bay may prove best of the rest with Luke Morris booked to ride for the first time.
1. Mums The Word
2. Allegheny Bay
3. Spirit Of Sarwan
