Four-time winner but only one of those has come since 2013 and just 2lb lower than last winning mark so he doesn't look particularly well-handicapped. Has a capable apprentice on board but others hold stronger claims.
Should enjoy this course despite being 0-2 here and most of his wins have come when dominating from the front so this draw is a bonus. Running consistently well of late and no surprise to see him in the finish if this claimer can get the fractions right on the front end.
Never got going last time after a slow start finishing last of nine but he's clearly better than that and a return to this course should suit him (effective front-runnner), despite being 0-3 here. Looks the type to bounce back and gets the services of a useful apprentice.
Won a 6f contest from a 19lb higher mark but not shown much in seven starts for this yard as his mark continues to slide. Probably better over further than this so others hold stronger claims.
Sole win came over C&D last year but not been in any form in four starts since then, including recent reappearance here last month. Likely to strip fitter for that effort but he needs to prove that win wasn't a fluke having failed to place on his other nine starts.
Visor seems to have made a difference with two runner-up efforts on last two starts but had the run of the race somewhat last time out and the winner from the time before has hardly franked the form. Not one to take too short a price about but likely to be thereabouts once again.
Merely one placed effort from 17 starts, coming on second outing at Lingfield. Barely beaten a rival home on last three starts and not one to place confidence in.
Yet to place on 16 starts to date and jockey's record is similar, yet to be placed from 20 rides. Operating from out of the handicap and returning cheekpieces look unlikely to make any sort of difference.
Forecasts
Pearl Noir (11/4), Topsoil (3/1), Mistry (7/2), Mighty Zip (6/1), Excellent Aim (6/1), Yisty (16/1), Hurricane Alert (20/1), Barnsdale (50/1)
If he can get an easy lead on the front end, PEARL NOIR will be tough to beat. Yard form would be a slight concern but he's one of the trainer's runners that has been running consistently well in defeat of late. Topsoil never got going last time and is clearly better than that and C&D winner Yisty needs to build on a recent reappearance at this course.
