No win in 15 starts and another moderate effort at Ludlow on latest start, finishing well beaten after being prominent early. No real chance of taking this unless the principals make mistakes.
Very useful handicap hurdler back in the day (won Greatwood hurdle at his peak) but a bit disappointing on his point-to-point debut at Cocklebarrow just over a fortnight ago, possibly needing the run, The trip may be an issue but he can't be discounted.
Winner of his last four point-to-points, staying on well to beat the useful if quirky Danners at Ampton on his latest start. Has jumped right-handed on occasions so this track should suit and looks a good prospect on his Rules debut today. Trip and ground no problem.
Useful handicap hurdler with David Pipe back in the day, although his form wasn't so good towards the end of his time with the yard and his last win came in a claimer. Only two efforts in point-to-points so far, the latest the best when second to Quel Elite at Alnwick, weakening late on. This slight drop back in trip should suit and he is not discounted.
Stays much further than this and won a 3m6f Open point-to-point at Cocklebarrow on his latest start, setting a good gallop from the front and making all. Similar tactics are likely here, with stamina doubts about one or two of these, and this improving hunter should be up to making a good go of it from the outset.
Something of a rogue when with Nigel Twiston-Davies, often dropping himself out of contests and tailing himself off before coming home with a rattle for the places, and surely needs further than this trip. The expected good gallop set by Supreme Danehill will help but a tricky customer who needs to be played very late on and although posessing talent, it goes hand in hand with his temperament.
SUPREME DANEHILL wouldn't be as good as one or two of these under Rules but he's really found his form in point-to-points and can break the hearts of Olofi and Street Entertainer, both of whom have slight questions over this trip, especially if it's going to be a strongly run contest. A good pace should also suit the enigmatic Sybarite who tends to drop himself out before rattling home.
1. Supreme Danehill
2. Samarnni
3. Sybarite
