Won well last time out but hasn't always convinced with his jumping. Still, that was only his third start over fences, so there may be more to come. Picks up a penalty but is respected nonetheless.
Has the frame of a chaser and has been brought along steadily by his connections. It won't be the end of the world if he needs this experience, so he may be best just monitored for the present time.
A useful hurdler that has made a good transition to chasing after posting a couple of solid efforts at Bangor and Warwick; if anything, this looks a slightly easier assignment, so a bold attempt can be expected.
Useful form in point-to-points but has yet to show the same level of ability over regulation fences. Still open to improvement, but others preferred on this occasion.
Needs to be forgiven his novicey mistake when tipping up at Wetherby last time out, but he was in the process of running a big race and was yet to be asked for any effort. He is sure to have been put through his paces at home subsequently, and can be expected to be involved in the thick of the action if he remains a little more focused this time around.
Useful in point-to-points but made an inauspicious start for Polly Gundry at Hereford just before Christmas. Already has improvement to find, so a watching brief is likely to be the best policy just for the moment.

As ever with novice chases, there has to be a degree of caution when it comes to betting. However, MINELLA CHARMER, looks a very likely type for small event such as this. He gets the nomination as the one to be on ahead of Gala Ball and Charmix, who can fight it out for the forecast slot. Flying Angel is also respected but will face a stiff test under a penalty for his winning effort in the Kingmaker Chase at Warwick yesterday.
