Two wins from 21 starts, most recent of those coming here over the extended mile. This step up in trip after absence may be more of a pipe opener on debut for new yard.
A nine-race maiden on the Flat but won last time out at Wincanton and now looks interesting returned to this sphere. Trainer flying in the NH sphere and worthy of respect as this mark could prove lenient after appearing to improve.
Recorded back-to-back wins in 2015 and entitled to need comeback run at this course last time after well over a year out of the game. Shaped like he retains some ability last time out and may get closer today.
Done very little to warrant this handicap mark (won weak Carlisle affair) and struggling on the AW of late. Still early days for this yard but probably needs to show more signs of encouragement before becoming of interest.
Scored in a seller at Lingfield two starts back and 1lb rise in the weights looks harsh for finishing third here last time out. Needs the switch to this yard to help him find another gear.
Boasts a respectable record on the AW and has run well around here without winning. Claimer has his first ride here but yard can often produce claimers with ability, so chance the 7lb claim could help her finish a little close than her fifth of 11 last time out at Lingfield.
Veteran who is still a maiden on the Flat in six starts. Step up in trip didn't suit last time so drop back to this distance looks a shrewd move but yard hardly in flying form and the handicap mark looks harsh to say the least.
C&D winner who is starting to look well-handicapped on a couple of his efforts from 2016. Merely a respectable third at Southwell last time but that was a step up on previous two efforts and there's a chance he can build on that.
Forecasts
Paddys Runner (2/1), Heart Locket (7/2), Dovils Date (7/1), Obboorr (15/2), The Lock Master (17/2), Fast Play (12/1), Instill (12/1), Handsome Dan (12/1), Mazaaher (66/1)
PADDYS RUNNER may be a better horse now than he was when last seen on the Flat and his mark in this sphere could be a generous one. The booking of Luke Morris is an obvious plus and he should give a good account after his win at Wincanton last time. Dovils Date is one with a similar profile and may be able to exploit a fair Flat mark while Harrison Shaw maybe able to get his career off to a flying start with Heart Locket if he's value for his 7lb claim.
