Eight time AW winner, including at Lingfield, Chelmsford and Southwell, but yet to strike on Tapeta. Bounced back from a poor show just a matter of days earlier to cosily take a 6f Class 4 fillies handicap at Lingfield in December on her penultimate start, but was readily left behind by Eljaddaaf when runner up at Kempton latest (third Free Zone has won since). Proven over further so 6f on this track could be ideal, but just that nagging doubt about Tapeta.
Course winner over 5f in September 2016, but has won over this trip on turf at Nottingham, Pontefract and Redcar, so few stamina doubts persist. Raised 3lb for that course success, and entitled to better for recent return effort from a break.
Joined this stable from Richard Hughes for 11,000 Guineas in October 2016, and returns to the track for stable debut following a five and a half month break. Three time winner as a juvenile for Richard Hannon in 2014, but handicapped not to win from that point forward. Gradually being eased, down to a new low of 80, and unexposed on synthetics. One for the future perhaps.
Like stablemate Elysian Flyer, makes his debut for this trainer after leaving elsewhere (William Haggas). Cost 8,000 Guineas in October 2016, and did win a 7f maiden on the Kempton Polytrack on debut in May 2016, so has AW experience, but not on Tapeta.
Ex David Simcock trained, and makes stable debut having been picked up for £23,000 at Doncaster in November 2016. Beat Dance Alone (Kevin Ryan trained) by three lengths in his sole success at Hamilton in July (6f), so interesting from a mark of 77 on his AW debut with his stable in fine form.
A dual winner on turf (five and six furlongs), but 0 from 8 on the AW, largely campaigned on the Fibresand at Southwell. Finished third in a C&D claimer here in December to Doc Sportello (went onto win a Fast-Track Qualifier), but needs to show a shade more to be involved at the front end.
Back from a long break for AW debut when down the field behind Burtonwood over this C&D recently, but stable badly out of form, as has been this horse since her juvenile days with Ann Duffield. Dropped a further 4lb to a mark of 68. Wears first time cheek-pieces.
Dual Class 5 C&D winner from marks of 65 and 68 who returns from a short break having been kept busy during October to December. 2lb higher than his last winning mark, and likes to front run, but can also miss the break, with the writing usually firmly on the wall if doing so. One for the in-running players if breaking prominently.
Pretty Bubbles is probably the horse to beat on all known form, but a nagging doubt persists as to her effectiveness on Tapeta. Slingsby is up in grade, but is always to be feared if breaking prominently, but with a few stable newcomers in this race it's difficult to make a confident selection. Therefore, a chance is taken on FORESIGHT on his debut for the in-form Kevin Ryan, who presumably saw something that he liked about this horse when he beat Dance Alone at Hamilton in July 2016 in order to splash out £23,000 to bring in this four-year-old Dream Ahead gelding from David Simcock.
