Fitted with a hood for his two outings thus far and ran as if in need of the outing first time out at Wovlerhampton, showed a similar level of ability next time out at Southwell and remains of interest with a top jockey booked for a yard who have won this race twice in recent years.
Runner-up here the last twice, over 7f most recently and often pulls hard and front runs. Steps up markedly in trip here and has to be some concerns stamina wise with the sire untested beyond a mile and limited stamina influences emanating from the dam.
Cost 13,000gns as a yearling and a half-brother to useful miler Arcanada. Small yard has a poor strike rate here in recent seasons.
Bought for 30,000 Euros last may and a half-brother to a couple of winning milers. Worth a check in the market.
Runner-up in a small field event at Chelmsford when last seen out back in october. Hadn't been beaten far in valuable auction race at Newmarket prior to that and was placed over a mile at Chelmsford in september.
Expensive yearling purchase (720,000 Euros) back in august 2015 but sold cheaply without running in november. Sire won at up to 1m2f and dam is a half-sister to classy performers Lope De Vega and Lord Of The Land. Interesting contender.
12,000 gns yearling. Half-sister to mile placer Araneide out of a dam who won over middle distances. Yard has a 25% strike rate (2/8) with their three-year-old's on the AW here and has to be respected though likely to be better over further in time. Non-runner at Kempton yesterday.

MASONIC has had plenty of chances but ran well enough when not beaten far last time out at Chelmsford. The selection ran well in a sales event prior to that and with a leading jockey in the saddle can take what doesn't appear to be the strongest of maiden events. Alfolk is taken to improve on his first two outings upped in trip here by finishing second while Allegheny Bay, already placed twice here over shorter can make the frame once more.
