Not tried on this surface before and being by Bushranger is no banker to act on it (sire has poor record on the surface). Only one win to his name and yet to score in handicaps and not certain to stay this trip either after a rare go at the distance last time out.
Useful handicapper formerly with David Barron and having just his second run for this stable. No surprise to see him given a go on Fibresand given the record of the stable with their debutantes on the surface. Given a spin over 2m last time out in first-time cheekpieces (retained here) and this run should tell us a lot more about him.
Showed some useful turf and AW form last year when with another stable and made his debut for this yard in a C&D claimer in January in first-time blinkers. Blinkers left off last time out when back in handicaps but fared little better and looks handicapped to the hilt.
Successful at Southwell twice and placed a further five times despite looking, on occasions, a hard ride. Has been hurdling in recent time but had a heavy fall on last start over timber at Haydock. Returned after a break in December with a respectable fourth over 1m6f when he looked as though he needed the run and more expected here.
Nine starts have so far failed to illicit a win and she remains a maiden. Two AW starts both on Polytrack have failed to show much and she makes her fibresand debut here with a fair bit to prove.
Forecasts
Faithful Creek (6/4), Serenity Now (9/4), Esteaming (9/2), Obboorr (6/1), Dizzey Heights (14/1)
Hardly the deepest race on the card and with the Dalgleish team having a good record with the horses that they run first time on this surface. On that basis, ESTEAMING could well come on from his first run for the yard. Serenity Now has form here already and despite on occasions looking an awkward ride he has to come into the equation on his last run at Southwell. Obboorr could well sneak a place based on his form at the track before although off this mark it would be a surprise if he was good enough to win.
1. Esteaming
2. Serenity Now
3. Obboorr
