Carried his turf form (Thirsk 7f seller winner in September) into the AW season despite leaving Richard Fahey after that race to join Jamie Osborne. Has won twice for this rider (takes her first Newcastle AW ride tonight) over the past month at Lingfield and Wolverhampton. Up 4lb for that latter success (beat Tailor's Row), but won with such authority, there's every chance of making it a four timer despite being 3lb worse with that rival tonight.
Disappointing beaten favourite on sole visit to Newcastle in June (6f), and went under by a length last time at Wolverhampton (after leading) to comfortable hat-trick scorer Vatican Hill. Highly debatable as to whether a 3lb turnaround at the weights will be enough to reverse the placings.
Runner up on his second start over C&D in October to the useful Commander Cole (beaten six lengths), but bombed out next time on heavy ground in a Listed contest at Chantilly. Keen when a beaten favourite most recently at Lingfield last month, and an opening mark of 77 isn't overly generous for his handicap debut. Gelded.
Has run some reasonable races in defeat, including when going under by a nose to Killermont Street over C&D in a maiden in mid November, before getting off the mark at Wolverhampton (7f) on his seventh start just under three weeks ago. Makes his handicap debut off a mark of 75 with few secrets, but with a proven liking for Tapeta.
Not without promise in three runs in maidens during the summer, and scored on handicap debut (7f) at Wolverhampton last month from a mark of 69, and denied a follow up by Tisbutadream from a 3lb higher mark over a mile at Lingfield last week. Clear contender for a trainer yet to strike here on the AW (0 from 4), but did saddle a turf winner at this track (1 from 1) over the past five years.
Maiden and last of 18 when last seen in the Goffs Premier Yearling Stakes (6f) at York's Ebor festival in August. Makes his handicap debut (probably difficult for the handicapper to assess) from a mark of 69 on his first run on the AW and up a furlong in trip.
Forecasts
Sky Ballerina (2/1), Vatican Hill (11/4), Tailor's Row (7/2), Espresso Freddo (5/1), Re Run (11/1), Man About Town (16/1)
VATICAN HILL should again have the measure of Tailor's Row, despite renewing rivalry on 3lb worse terms, and is taken to notch the four-timer, and provide Lucy K Barry with a first Newcastle AW success with her first ride at the track. Re Run has been gelded so could settle better here, but an opening mark of 77 looks tough, so it can be Sky Ballerina who gives Vatican Hill most to think about tonight.
