Winner of the Catterick 12f series final in September 2016, and competitive back at the North Yorkshire venue on his final two turf starts. Not as reliable in three spins on the AW over C&D during his career, including on his last two starts this winter, but this is a grade lower than those races (Class 5).
Scored by seven lengths on debut for Marjorie Fife at Wolverhampton in early December (2m), and again ran well on Tapeta over that trip, and on this course early last month when beaten half a length by Jan Smuts. Can be excused a moderate run on Fibresand but does drop back 4f in trip which is a worry for a stout stayer.
Competitive from marks in the mid 80's for John Gosden over a mile in 2013, but never sparkled off a near two year break in the final quarter of 2015 for Irish trainer James Lambe. Down to a mark of 74 for his AW debut after another 14 months off, and makes debut for a stable known to rejuvenate horses. Trip an unknown.
Not won since August 2014 (for George Chaloner) and now aged ten. However, hasn't been disgraced in three starts at this track this winter, but appears to need a shade more slack with his mark of 70, and must reverse placings with Go George Go on 6lb better terms.
Unbeaten in four starts over C&D since late November, but has risen from a mark of 48 to 71 (+23lb). His last win suggested that the handicapper was slowing his progress, but this isn't overly strong in truth, an he could be freshened up for a short break of a month.
Stablemate of Magistral but returns off an even longer break having not run since September 2015. Won once for Jim Goldie in 13 starts on turf (same ownership), and is given a chance off a mark of 70 if his new trainer is able to rejuvenate.
Won over this C&D (Class 6) in mid November having previously appeared more of a 10f horse. Twice placed at this track over that shorter trip subsequently, including when headed on the line by Bollihope. A mark of 66 is a career high and therefore he is a shade vulnerable (yet respected) on balance over this trip.
Maiden who has never tackled this trip in seven career starts to date. Twice a runner up including for this yard in a four runner claimer at Redcar in early November. Difficult to fancy.

Iain Jardine saddles a couple of horses returning from lengthy absences (Magistral and Thorntoun Care) who should be noted for any market confidence, but this looks the ideal opportunity for GO GEORGE GO to notch a five timer over C&D. Whilst his winning run looked likely to come to an end after his last success, his trainer has found him another good opportunity, and in a moderate race, it is worth going to the well one more time.
