15/2
Slightly better over fences than hurdles but seemingly regressing currently. Likely to make another bold bid from the front and dropped 2lb for most recent effort but others hold stronger claims.

Struggled from higher in the weights at the end of last year. Plenty of promise in recent return at Newcastle though and capable of building on that from a more forgiving mark, providing competition for the lead doesn't scupper his chance.

Best form for Tom Lacey came at this stage of last season when a wide margin winner. Tongue tie reapplied with blinkers but may struggle to dominate from the front in this field.

Age: 5|  Weight: 11-8| J: Aidan Coleman| T: J & A O'Neill| OR:  96

Tailed off on all four starts to date and yard not been in great form of late so others preferred.

Age: 11|  Weight: 11-6| J: Brendan Powell| T: J Farrelly| OR:  94
11/2
Not won for nearly two years but capable of getting involved now reverting back to hurdles off what looks a lenient mark. May prefer faster ground than what he will encounter today.

Young Loup27
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-5| J: Tabitha Worsley(7)| T: R Dickin| OR:  93

Consistent handicapper but has found herself on a tricky mark now and that may just prove beyond her. Likely to give it her all once again provided she's no worse for recent Hereford outing.

Classico Daisp134
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-5| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| OR:  93

Shown very little in three handicaps to date but looks the type to improve now handicapping, wearing first time cheekpieces. Market likely to prove informative and yard do well with these kind of recruits. Forecast ground should suit.
8
Horse silk
Flemi Two Toes27
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-4| J: Mr Tommie M O'Brien(7)| T: Laura Morgan| OR:  92
9/1
Made a promising start for this yard in three starts to date, scoring over 3m here on penultimate start. Probably got involved in the battle a little too far out last time but still plugged on for third and should remain compeitive. Well handicapped on old form and will enjoy the forecast conditions.
9
Horse silk
Point N Shootp121
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-3| J: C Gethings(5)| T: N J Hawke| OR:  91
8/1
Unplaced on all five starts to date but improved markedly for the step up in trip last time and the extended 3m 1f could bring out more improvement. Should get a fair pace to aim at and has claims providing he copes with the conditions.
10
Horse silk
Boher Lad32
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-0| J: Stan Sheppard(5)| T: A Phillips| OR:  88
8/1
Not the most fluent of jumpers but finally got off the mark in November with a 40 length romp at Ludlow, and came close to recording back-to-back wins at the same track a week later, just finding one too good. Rather gone off the rails since then with a fall at Bangor and never got into it last time so needs to prove he's in the same form.

Horse silk
Goodnight Charlie21
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-0| J: Bridget Andrews(3)| T: C Fryer| OR:  88
25/1
Showed very little in five hurdles starts to date, either finishing pulled up or tailed off on each occasion. Plenty to prove currently.
12
Horse silk
Glendermot31
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-13| J: Danny Cook| T: P E Cowley| OR:  87
12/1
Questionable attitude at times and pulled up on last three starts, all over fences. Plenty to prove now back over hurdles and still a maiden after 12 starts.
13
Horse silk
Gale Force Oscart20
Age: 12|  Weight: 10-9| J: Benjamin Poste(3)| T: T Symonds| OR:  83
16/1
Just one win over fences to his name to date and makes belated hurdle debut here at the veteran stage of his career. One would think they may have tried this route already if it were to be fruitful but he has run well over this trip, at this course, over fences finishing second so there's a glimmer of hope.
14
Horse silk
Duc de Seville73
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-0| J: Lee Edwards| T: M C Chapman| OR:  64
100/1
Just one win coming on the Flat to his name in 29 starts to date and never managed to place over obstacles so probably one to avoid from well out of the handicap.
15
Horse silk
Peak Seasons65
Age: 14|  Weight: 10-0| J: Ross Turner(7)| T: M C Chapman| OR:  56
150/1
Better chaser than hurdler and not won since 2008 in this sphere. No signs he wants to go this far either and has a hefty task on from a long way out of the handicap at this age.

Forecasts

Finish The Story (11/2), Kelsey (13/2), Redkalani (13/2), Red Admirable (15/2), Boher Lad (8/1), Point N Shoot (8/1), Flemi Two Toes (9/1), Glendermot (12/1), Terry The Fish (16/1), Gale Force Oscar (16/1), Classico Dais (18/1), Young Lou (20/1), Goodnight Charlie (25/1), Duc de Seville (100/1), Peak Seasons (150/1)

16:10 Southwell - 31 January 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

FLEMI TWO TOES may enjoy the strong pace that this will likely be run at and he appears rejuvenated by a switch to this stable. He got involved in a battle too far from home last time and may make amends here. Point N Shoot is another who may enjoy being held up off a fast tempo and ought to remain competitive. Redkalani would be dangerous if allowed an early lead but that seems unlikely here. 1. Flemi Two Toes 2. Point N Shoot 3. Redkalani
