Unraced €50,000 Yearling by Dutch Art out of Woodcock Moon who is a half-brother to 7f and 1m winner Moonstone Magic. Makes his debut at a realistic level and contender.
Runner up on turf on her second start to Yellowhammer in a 7f fillies maiden at Newmarket in late October, and again filled that spot in a similar fillies contest on AW debut at Lingfield in December (4/7f). Didn't appear to appreciate the step upto 1m there next time and makes Tapeta debut dropped in trip to 6f. Races prominently, but rated just 73.
Cost just £800 as a Yearling, but is a half-sister to 7f and 1m winner Father Bertie. Last of eight on November course debut (7f) to Killermont Street (disappointed twice since), and needs to do much more dropped to this sharper trip.
£8,000 Yearling and a half-sister to 5f & 6f winner My Amigo. Always rear on debut (tenth of 13) over C&D in a stronger maiden than this, but green and last of four on the Fibresand at Southwell subsequently. Others preferred in a weak race.
Unraced second foal by Holy Roman Emperor out of Sceal Nua. Has plenty of stamina in her pedigree (dam side), with 6f likely plenty sharp enough for her racecourse debut.
Unraced £6,000 Yearling and third foal by Bushranger out of Deportment. Half-sister to winners Commodore (5f) and Protocol (7.5f). Stable fairly quiet on the AW.
Forecasts
Van Velde (5/4), Ettu (11/8), Boogie Babe (13/2), Scealtara (20/1), Mimic's Memory (25/1), Magical Molly Joe (33/1), Spike's Princess (50/1)
One can't help but feel connections are somewhat beginning to scratch their heads with Ettu, who ought to be good enough to take this based upon her pleasing second to Yellowhammer on turf at Newmarket in October. However, she switches to Tapeta for the first time and drops back to 6f (far more likely to suit than a mile), but from a mark of 73 is able to be taken on with the €50,000 Yearling VAN VELDE. This is a weak race, but if fully tuned up, he can provide both John Quinn and Jason Hart with a quick double.
1. Van Velde
2. Ettu
3. Mimic's Memory
