0/9 on the AW but has been placed seven times and possibly needs a little help from the handicapper. Placed on last four runs on synthetic surfaces and it could well be a similar story here.
AW regular (this will be his 78th AW start) and with 14 wins to his name he certainly has the class to win this. Has been nearly a year since his last win though and he looks held these days off marks in the mid-80's.
Four-time AW winner whose last win came over C&D around a year ago and came back to form last time out. Run of the race suited last time out (held-up in a strongly run race) and not certain to get the same conditions here.
Two creditable runs since winning his maiden over C&D in December. Should be able to defy a mark in the low-80s given his last run in a slightly better grade at Wolverhampton when made favourite.
Not won since November 2015 but fairly lightly raced since that victory. Looks to be steadily working his way back to form based on his last run (looked to still need the run) and now 5lb below his last winning mark from a yard in good form.
Capable turf and AW performer who has won off higher marks in the past. Better judged here on his penultimate start (badly hampered last time out) when third at Chelmsford to two well-treated rivals and will travel strongly here.
Struggled a little after winning at Chelmsford in 2015 although showed a little more at Lingfield (1m2f) last time out. Now runs off his last winning mark but still looks short of his best form in a competitive heat.

There doesn't look to be too many ahead of their marks in this and recent C&D winner Byres Road sets a decent standard after showing up well in slightly better company last time out. Chevalier is a consistent sort but hardly a winning machine and the strong travelling Mezzotint should not be left out of calculations at a double-figure price. DUTIFUL SON has slipped to a decent mark and although he hasn’t won for a while off this mark he looks worth a second look in an open race.
