Billy Bronco27

30/100
Towcester bumper winner this time last year, who has gone on to be placed in novices' hurdles at Haydock Park and more recently Ffos Las. The winner of that latest race has upheld the form since then, giving cause for optimism here.
Point To Point winner who has been placed in both novices' hurdles that he has contested to date. The step-up to this trip for the first time under rules is arguably a positive and he should be in the mix.

66/1
Triple Point To Point winner who has found life difficult when trying to add to that under rules. Having been placed twice from nine attempts over fences, he reverts to hurdles for the first time and, while he will see out the trip, there are likely to be others ahead of him when he crosses the line.

Has failed to complete in three chases in the latter part of 2016, so switches back to the smaller obstacles., where he is 0-3 so far. Hard to recommend.

8/1
Irish Point To Point winner who has started at lengthy odds on both occasions since joining his current yard. Showed a modicum of promise most recently at Exeter and should be able to progress further on ground that he seems likely to handle.

Trainer does pretty well at this track and is one to fear when his runners are supported, although this Navan bumper winner is likely to need to produce more than when making the frame here in a 2m 4f novices' hurdle here in December if she is to score.

Yard's runners have been in decent form since the turn of the year though it would be a surprise if this mare, who was very late in making her racecourse debut, can show enough improvement for that abortive outing to take this.

Forecasts

Billy Bronco (30/100), Sideways (8/1), Elusive Theatre (8/1), Front At The Last (12/1), Orioninverness (50/1), One Cool Clarkson (66/1), Lady Of The Clyde (100/1)

13:45 Ayr - 17 January 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Evan Williams would welcome a winner and he may have found a good opportunity for BILLY BRONCO to get off the mark over hurdles. The form of his Ffos Las run has been franked and he can put his racecourse experience to good use here. Front At The Last should benefit from being tried over three miles under rules for the first time and can show more, while a market check is advised where the bumper winner Elusive Theatre is concerned. 1. Billy Bronco 2. Front At The Last 3. Elusive Theatre
