Hasn't got his head in front since winning the Fred Winter at the festival in 2015. Very disappointing in two runs over fences this season and mark doesn't look overly generous.

Won impressively on debut after a respectable PTP career but jumping errors have appeared to creep into his game since and proved very disappointing last time. Needs to bounce back with a clear round if he's to get competitive here.

Reeled off a hat-trick in the spring of 2015 but handicapper has caught up with him and he needs proper soft ground to show his best; which he seems unlikely to get here.

Stepped up on his French form to win at Newcastle on UK debut. Then bumped into one in the shape of Fox Appeal who looked like he was running well in the fog at Wincanton on Saturday before a fall. Quite possible a mark of 132 underestimates his ability and he's still improving so he holds leading claims in this.

Has never won over this far but performed with credit, finishing third in a Grade 3 contest over a similar trip at Kempton in February. However, been poor in three runs since and while he's dropped to a handy mark, he's tough to put faith in.

Has won off a mark this high but that was in 2013 and he's an inconsistent performer these days. Has never won over this sort of trip and one would have thought connections would have already tried it if he was a realistic staying candidate.

Has been In the form of his life at Cheltenham this season, winning and finishing runner up in two amateur handicaps. Made a bad mistake and pulled up last time out but he's usually a consistent sort so likely he's still in form. Feasibly handicapped and shouldn't be overlooked.

Forecasts

Calett Mad (6/4), Qualando (9/2), Roc D'Apsis (6/1), Tempestatefloresco (6/1), Red Devil Lads (8/1), Troika Steppes (17/2), Tindaro (40/1)

14:10 Taunton - 11 January 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

CALETT MAD looks like a well-handicapped horse and his two efforts since moving from France have been impressive. He looks tough to oppose with question marks over plenty of the others. Troika Steppes blundered badly last time but if one poor run can be forgiven, then he'd certainly have claims on his previous form, particularly his two recent efforts at Cheltenham. If Tempestatefloresco can put a clear round of jumping, he could be dangerous to rule out. 1. Calett Mad 2. Troika Steppes 3. Tempestatefloresco
