Won his opening bumper nicely and performed well in a more valuable affair in that sphere at Ascot next time. Makes hurdles debut and Champion Jockey booked so certainly worthy of consideration.

Confirmed hurdles debut promise last time and would have won if it wasn't for hanging badly left in the final furlong. That level of form sets a high bar for these to aim and he looks the one to beat.
Coped with heavy ground on bumper debut two starts back but disappointed as favourite next time. Better expected with time but opposable after an absence.
Poor on all three hurdles starts to date, falling last time out to add insult to injury. Seems an unlikely type and yard only had three winners in the last year.

200/1
Gifted a match race last time out when obviously well beaten. Could well come on for that run having had over a year off prior and switched yards since. Unlikely to be good enough here though.
6
Horse silk
50/1
Pulled up or tailed off in three starts for this yard and likely to need more time.
7
Horse silk
200/1
Barely beaten a rival home on first four starts and yard not had a winner in the last twelve months so tough to fancy.

150/1
Some promise in weak Newton Abbot bumper on debut but tailed off in last two starts and may be a summer ground type of horse.
9
Horse silk
100/1
Contested same bumper that Yanworth won at Wincanton but finished tailed off and remains unplaced from six starts. Also prone to jumping errors so easily opposed.
10
Horse silk
40/1
Unplaced in three weak looking bumpers but should appreciate the step up in trip. Imagination called for to be considered for win purposes.
11
Horse silk
7/1
Won a maiden PTP and shaped with plenty of promise when third of 18 at Wincanton behind a progressive looking, well backed JP McManus horse. Needs more here but plenty more in his favour than most of these.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-6| J: R P McLernon| T: S Thomas
66/1
Unplaced on all four starts and looked beaten when falling last time out. Trainer's strike rate running at a particularly low percentage over the past 12 months and others preferred.
13
Horse silk
200/1
Placed just once in seven PTPs and shown very little in three hurdles starts to date. Jockey with just one win in 52 rides. Very few positives to cling on to.
14
Horse silk
50/1
Sole mare in the line up and hasn't looked devoid of ability in three starts to date but tailed off last time and needs to raise her game to get involved here.

13:35 Taunton - 11 January 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

BAGS GROOVE looks the most likely winner and was unlucky not to score last time out, hanging on the run in; could well prove very popular in the betting here. Agamemmon might prove some value against the likley favourite after running a nice race in an Ascot bumper. With Richard Johnson taking the ride, there's plenty to like about his chance. Steely Addition made a promising debut under rules and may well build on that performance,. 1. Bags Groove 2. Agamemmon 3. Steely Addition
