1
Horse silk
28/1
Back from a 12 month absence last month but a well held sixth of seven at Wetherby, and whilst this is only his third start over hurdles, improvement is required.
2
Horse silk
125/1
Little promise shown in three starts in bumpers, and little improvement for going over hurdles. Pulled up on last outing at Uttoxeter on New Year's Eve.
3
Horse silk
250/1
Placed (albeit beaten 14 lengths) on second start in a bumper at Market Rasen last summer but shown little aptitude for hurdling in two starts so far, including when seventh of eight last time in a maiden hurdle at Fakenham.

8/1
Three time winner on the Flat for this yard, including from a mark of 83 at Epsom in August last year. A distant second to a rival that was simply far too good on only his second hurdles start at Market Rasen, and whilst that was a weak race, he may be suited by this step up in trip.
Dromahane PTP scorer on second start in May, before joining current connections for £56,000 at the Doncaster May Sale. Held up and never on terms on hurdles debut in a fair race at Warwick last month, and leading contender despite ideally being suited by further.

100/1
Placed on NHF debut for this yard at Southwell in June, and sixth of 15 on hurdles debut at Chepstow early last month. This looks easier, but tackles a longer trip, and on balance needs to do more.
8
Horse silk
300/1
Started at three figure odds in both bumpers, and absent since April 2016. Hurdles debutant who on breeding will appreciate this longer trip.
9
Horse silk
7/2
Second on both starts in Irish PTP's including latterly when a beaten favourite at Lisronagh. Bought at the Doncaster May Sale for £54,000 and placed on both starts for this yard, including last time over hurdles to a 125 rated rival.
A three time winner on the Flat including off a mark of 85 at Pontefract in June 2016. Final start on the level was in the Cesarewitch, and a fair third of six on hurdles debut in a maiden contest here last month.

9/4
Placed on all three starts over hurdles at shorter trips including last time at Taunton, and top rated (117) of those allocated handicap marks so far.
12
Horse silk
250/1
Little promise in both starts over hurdles in early January 2015, including when tailed off and unseating rider at Wetherby. Campaigned at a low level on the Flat since, and easily overlooked.

Forecasts

Zipple Back (9/4), Lough Derg Farmer (5/2), Tree Of Liberty (7/2), Wind Place And Sho (5/1), Hubertas (8/1), Minella Style (8/1), Duncomplaining (28/1), Schnabel (100/1), Herdswick Holloa (125/1), Bertha Burnett (250/1), High Wheeler (250/1), Sound The Bugle (300/1)

13:00 Doncaster - 9 January 2017 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Fairly competitive in terms of numbers, but not really in terms of those with chances. Whilst Wind Place And Sho has shown a decent level of form on the Flat, the more obvious winners are Lough Derg Farmer and TREE OF LIBERTY. Whilst Nicky Henderson's horse is probably the best long term prospect and promises to be suited by this more galloping track than Warwick (despite dropping back slightly in trip), Tree of Liberty is marginally preferred today having run well on hurdles debut behind a much more experienced rival last time at Kelso. 1. Tree Of Liberty 2. Lough Derg Farmer 3. Wind Place And Sho
